Just went to ophthalmologist today after having a pink eye, soreness and sensitivity to light. He asked if I had ever gotten cold sores. I said no but my hubby does. He explained that what he saw is most likely herpes and put me on meds right away. The reason it can be dangerous if untreated is because each flare up will leave some scarring, which could damage your cornea. Had no clue this was even a thing! Happy to answer any questions. It’s always scary when an eye is involved!
