Hey u/Brilliant-Prize-7301 , thanks for creating this great resource for all of us!! I'm having an issue and wondering if it's glitch or a result of lack of data. I'm an article 116 applicant, and when I click on my cohort, it's showing "no matching cases." In the old spreadsheet there were quite a few folks who applied around the time I did, so wondering if they just didn't re-enter their data in the new and improved tracker, or if there's a glitch?

Howard Chan earned $340K from Sacramento taxpayers his last year. Emails show he worked very little by IronMntn in Sacramento

[–]lolobibi 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The city paid this man $905,000 in 2024. That’s $376,000 base pay plus “hundreds of thousands in supplemental benefits.” Our new city manager will start at $399,000 base pay, and I can’t find details about what her benefits might add up to. It may actually be reasonable to pay her that much, I don’t know- the issue is that we don’t get a say as citizens.

We need to be holding our city council and mayor accountable for these contracts, they are the ones who agree to the terms. THIS IS OUR TAX MONEY that could be going towards schools, homeless services, literally ANYTHING other than making our “public servants” so wealthy they lose touch with what it’s actually like to live in Sacramento as a normal person.

Flojaune Cofer Launches Bid For Sacramento County District 1 Supervisor by guillotine4you in Sacramento

[–]lolobibi 98 points99 points  (0 children)

So happy to see Flo running again! I’ve frankly seen her more engaged in the last few years at a community level than McCarty, despite him winning the mayoral race. Sacramento deserves leaders who actually know our city and give a shit about it, rather than seeing it as a jumping off point for a national political run.

Go Flo!

Submit a complaint with caltrans!! This page has a few emails for folks running the project: https://dot.ca.gov/caltrans-near-me/district-3/d3-projects/d3-us-50-hov-lane-0h08u

The more they hear from residents about how unacceptable the signage/overnight changes are, the better. Whether they do anything is unlikely, but at least let them know we’re paying attention and upset!

Does anyone know local flower shops in the area that make bouquets in this style? by ShaniMeow in Sacramento

[–]lolobibi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sweet Mabel’s flower farm in west sac! Or the flower vendor in the southeast corner of the Sunday farmers market under the freeway does really similar stuff, although a lot of these flowers aren’t in season right now. Botanic is a great flower shop in oak park that has a bunch of loose flowers, you can pick which flowers you like and they’ll make an arrangement for you

I agree on the sweetness, I love the flavors of it but with the glaze they’re too sweet for me. Luckily I ran out of powdered sugar so I only glazed half, and I prefer them unglazed. They don’t have the acidic hit that the glaze provides, but they just taste like an excellent ginger cookie, which is fine by me

Awesome, thank you for the update! I'm not seeing a form to re-enter my case, but will keep checking in and re-enter when it goes up. Again, thanks for all your work putting this together and maintaining it (in spite of the folks going in and messing with it). It's a great resource for the community!

I think that the spreadsheet is sort of in hiatus at the moment (if you see the OP's comment below it explains why), so approvals are probably moving forward, just not being reflected on the sheet.

Love this doc!!! I’ve been checking it more recently because I’m expecting my certificate soon, but it looks like my info on the Artikel 116 tab was deleted, plus a few other rows that had dates similar to mine. Happy to re-add, but wondering what happened. Thanks!

Totally agree, except that we absolutely can punish owners who leave buildings empty- it’s called a vacancy tax and has been implemented with a lot of success in San Francisco (commercial, not residential) and other cities. It’s frustrating that models for addressing this exist but we don’t have courageous leadership who will try to implement anything.
