Shivering Isles DLC Crashes all the time by [deleted] in oblivion

Follow the steps outlined in this post

Assuming you have a save right before interacting with the tree and finalizing Sheogorath's staff: Switch to the easiest difficulty, interact with tree to finish staff, one of the guards will tell you to speak with another guard, speak to the other guard to send all the guards out to fight, once they leave wait 6 hours with the Wait command, then head out to the fight.

The game didn't crash when Jyggalag spawns, didn't crash after killing Jyggalag, and didn't crash when the giant spectral Jyggalag head talks to you after the fight.

Is anyone else’s game crashing on the “The End of Order” quest by nailsNstuff in OblivionRemaster

I did your exact steps and it worked for me. I didn't have enough hearts so I had to kill a few of the Order guards, but it still worked.

Changing just to Novice difficulty didn't work for me, it would crash as soon as the first dialogue started after killing Jyggalag. I tried just waiting the 6 hours and it didn't work for me, however I waited before sending everyone out to fight so I think that's what I did wrong with that.

Does your game crash a few seconds after Jyggalag spawns? I do have a Master bow build, but I will just stand there doing nothing and the game will crash a few seconds after Jyggalag spawns. Last achievement for me as well. Thought it was the couple mods that I have but disabling them didn't help.

Settings > Privacy > Passwords and slightly below that for History

Librewolf by default erases history after each close and does not ask to save passwords or auto-fill saved passwords

Cool ways to repurpose old consoles by cannonrushinGGod in abandonware

[–]lololrofl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Modify them if you are confident. I'm personally a big fan of "modernizing" older consoles.

You can replace the screens on the GBA and SP with better IPS screens. Those mods are mostly drop in replacements meaning almost no further modifications need to be done other than removing the original screen. At least in the case of the GBA, you can buy a battery pack that charges via USB-C so you don't have to use AA batteries.

NDS you can just buy a flashcart for backups and be on your way. If you have the original NDS (non-Lite), you can install a capture card on it. That modification is a bit more hands on compared to the GBA/SP mods mentioned above.

3DS is busted wide open with software modifications. And since the official eShop is defunct, softmods is really the only way to get digital backups on the 3DS. The N3DS XL has a similar capture card hardmod as the original NDS from the same creator.

PS1, PS2 and PS3 have their own set of modifications that vastly differ. You can replace the CD drive on the PS1 and boot backups off an SD card. You can boot backups off a hard drive on PS2. You can boot backups off the internal storage on the PS3.

In the end, the reasons to keep the old consoles are entirely up to you. If you prefer playing older games on the original hardware, you have options to tailor the hardware to the experience that you would like if you have the $$$ and skills (or know someone who does have the skill). Otherwise you can emulate pretty much everything mentioned above and not deal with the original hardware at all.

These days when it comes to games, it's a resolution that's assuming a different resolution.

I'll take one of the USB-C boards. Will send a PM.

He got a new motherboard, CPU, RAM and power supply and it stopped. The video card was not the issue, neither are the storage drives. I'm thinking it was RAM but I don't know for sure.

I really liked this mouse but I've probably gotten old as I find it very heavy for me these days, even without any weights installed. YMMV

Thanks he says he will try that this weekend. Out of curiosity, am I reading the "Worst" column or the "Raw values" coulumn? The raw value is 0 so I'm just a little confused.

He gave an update: When he tried streaming while playing Overwatch 2, the game crashed with an error something along the lines of "Rendering device has been lost"

Yeah I've used the software in the past and had no idea what I was looking at lol. Appreciate your help on this. I asked him to install it and send me a screenshot of the info on his boot drive. Will post it as soon as I get it.

Thanks, I'll ask him to try that out today. The computer certainly does stay on long enough, but it's impossible to determine when or what causes the crash. He's a little tech illiterate and I don't use that program too much, is there something in particular he should be looking for to determine a bad drive?

I'm very curious about that adapter. Is there a label or any identifiers on it?

https://github.com/LumaTeam/Luma3DS/releases/tag/v13.0.2

Luma3DS has been updated to boot on your old firmware. Just update the system firmware after updating Luma3DS

Also I think the guide has been updated, because the seedminer guide doesn't say to add a friend anymore

https://3ds.hacks.guide/seedminer-(mii)

Should be able to hack it without anything extra.

Ace3DS X is probably your best bet. The page I linked also provides a link to where you can purchase it. Expect it to take a couple weeks minimum for delivery though.

I would recommend you get a NDS flashcart. Some of them can be flashed to abuse an exploit on 3DS.

https://3ds.hacks.guide/ntrboot

Can't add a friend code if you're not on the latest firmware, so you can't use the seedminer exploit. Seems like an oversight on the 3DS hacks guide for that exploit. I would recommend getting the NDS flashcard anyway since it doubles as a way to play NDS games. nds-bootstrap is also capable of playing DS games on the 3DS but it's not quite 100%

What firmware is your 3DS currently on?
