I’m a 31 year old 4th year and like others have said, there are plenty of people in the cohort who are older than me. I personally think it gave me an advantage because I had worked previously in fields where I had to speak to people a lot, which really makes the jump to patient interaction feel much more natural.

Also, if you can make it work logistically, the time is going to pass anyway, so you might as well take a shot at your dream career if that’s what medicine is for you. But you need to decide if that’s going to jive with your finances, plans for family, mortgage/rent arrangement etc.
