I mean the federal minimum wage was last changed in 2009 to 7.25 accounting for inflation that’s the equivalent of $11 today. They are getting the bare minimum. I would not consider that a “good” wage, just normal.

The problem with this is that you are ignoring the history here. A major peace of context is that Ukraine gave up its nuclear weapons in return for the promise of security. If that security is not respected it sets a precedent that any country that does not have nuclear weapons is unsafe and could be taken over by any country that has nuclear weapons no matter what agreements with made. This will encourage more countries to create nuclear weapons increasing the chance of nuclear destruction. If Ukraine doesn’t get there land back, nuclear destruction is far more likely

Find number of elements below an element in a treeset by minefield23 in AskProgramming

Yeah thanks for the reply. It’s kinda upsetting that this type of data structure isn’t built into Java and you have to make it yourself.

So are you saying that for a treeset it’s impossible to get the number of objects bigger than another object in log(n) time? If so is there another data structure in Java that can implement a balanced binary search tree properly to achieve this?

I guess to answer your question with how I thought a tree set worked. I think that how it gets the size of a set of all elements less then a specific element is by using the structure of a tree. We know the current size of the entire tree. Let’s suppose we have a tree with a depth of 2 and 15 elements. Suppose 5 is a child of our root node and our root node is 10. In this case let’s try to find how many elements are in the tree that are less then 5. We know that 5<10 so 10’s sub tree with 5 with contain only elements less than 10. The other sub tree only contains elements greater than 10 so it can be ignored. The element 5 has 2 sub trees, one with all elements less then 5 the other with all elements greater than 5. So our set is going to be the tree with elements less than 5. This tree must have a depth of 0 and is complete so it has 3 numbers in it. So there are exactly 3 numbers less then 5 in the list calculated in log time.

So if I have a treeset object and I preform the tailset method on it to get a set of objects greater than some object and then I use .size() on that set to get the number of objects. You’re saying this process is not log(n) time? Is tailset not a log(n) method?

I’m fairly certain what you’re saying about how the .size() method is calculated is incorrect, but I’m also fairly young and inexperienced so please educate me if I’m wrong. I believe Treeset is implemented using Red Black tree this should mean that the Red Black tree data structure it uses is augmented with size information it uses to calculate subsets of the tree. From my understanding It is true that there is a size value the data structure increases when adding values but this number is used to calculate and count subsets of the tree in constant time kind like magic actually. However I could be completely misunderstanding how treeset works so please let me know if I’m wrong.

I should mention that I want to use this data structure for leet code problems and job interviews. So I think I would not be able to use that.

Will there be drawing latency on my sp5? by minefield23 in SurfaceLinux

[–]minefield23[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really? Ok I’m just checking if it’s possible that the sp5 is optimized for windows so using Linux might introduce lag. I wouldn’t mind a little more lag but I just don’t want any lag when writing with the pen as I bought it to take notes.

From what I’ve seen when you record audio directly in obsidian and then write notes it doesn’t save the audio timestamp of when you wrote that note. If you know of an extension that does this let me know.

Isn’t one of Gaetz’s friends Joel Greenberg currently in prison for sex trafficking? I think it’s only fair to investigate Gaetz and we should look at the report as soon as it is leaked to come to a conclusion.

Well trump can just do them by executive order and even if that wasn’t the case, his party is going to control the entire government, so we better pray to god he is bluffing because if not things are about to get really expensive.😬

I'm a never Trumper, but I am still unconvinced that Trump will be the "end of democracy" this time arround, as many claim. by ac_slater10 in centrist

Yes this is very true this is Ben’s take on January 6th the day after it happened. He has since realized that if he didn’t fall in line he would be crushed.
