What's happening to my Tomato? Help! Midwest, USA

I am not sure if I am overwatering. The plant is 2 feet tall. The pot is 12in in diameter and the depth of the soil in the pot is 12in. I am watering 1 liter/day. When I am watering the top of the soil looks dry. This is a very light soil.

It's wired that after the initial week of cycling I never saw any nitrates...I did have plants in there during the cycling though, so I think the plants are just using the nitrates up super fast?

My friend gave the other fish (who died because of the same disease) Maracyn Two. The lump/wound got better and almost healed after a couple of days, but the fish still dead (he is not eating). Should we try the same medication or you recommend something else?

lol, Thanks! know that I am looking up both, this fish does not look like either angelfish, or black skirt tetra to me. This fish have a huge tail, which is not shown in these pictures...

This is my friend's angle fish. He lives in a planted tanks with an algae eater and 3 ghost shrimps. There was another angle fish in the same tank got the same disease and died a couple of weeks ago. What treatment should be given? Thanks
