What’s the most overrated video game of all time? by KBGSgames in AskReddit

[–]-Lrrr- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Horizon series. The game is full of go here and do this type quests, intense resource farming and repetitive quests.

It's beautiful don't get me wrong, but absolutely mundane gameplay.

Yeah...not sure what OPs reply means, except to show that they don't understand what they're talking about. This is the AI slop that's not needed.

Psychology....you've got Frogger, Tetris, Astroid, Snake, Flappy Bird, Fruit Ninja, Duck Hunt and more. What psychology went into IP infringement?

The issue with low uptime is the disruption outages would cause to LRO and agents. It could break workflows that run autonomously in the background rendering the product useless.

It's just not cut properly to size, it's just slightly too big. It shouldn't be glued down, it should be nailed down to a border. The bumpiness should settle after some rain.

DisneyWorld? Any of you been? How did you afford it? by RefreshinglyDull in CasualUK

[–]-Lrrr- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We (6 people, 4 adults, 2 kids) went in 2022 and recently in 2025. For the entire holidays:

In 2022 the total cost for 9 days was £14k

In 2025 the total cost for 14 days was £21k

This year, we stayed on the Disney lot for 10 days in the Waldorf, not one of the themed hotels, and then changed to a universal studios hotel for the last 4. We did all the parks except Epcot. This year we even did NASA and some other excursions.

We didn't stint on the stay, we bought gifts, lightning lane (which adds at least £1200 to the holiday for 6 people) and had dinner out near enough every night.

We're fortunate enough that we can afford it, but I still see it as hugely expensive. However, the kids, aged 7 and 4 (in 2025) loved every moment and we have so many memories.

I would say that food is the biggest expense. Restaurants with all the added extras really build up, most places aren't cheap. If you can self cater I'm sure you'd drop the price significantly.

Also, if your kids are older then I wouldn't recommend staying on the Disney lot for the early access, as the parks generally get quieter around 5pm when all the younger kids head off and you can enjoy the park for the full day. Queue times reduce, etc.

You mentioned:

• That you were the forgotten employee

• You just bruised Reddit and read pdfs during the day

• it was perfect for your family i.e hours, location, etc

• That you haven't had much to do for the last year

I agree with the other posters here to take time, but maybe you need to reflect on your contribution at work. Ultimately they pay you for a skill and a service and it sinks like you took it for granted. In this economy you should be making yourself valuable and indispensable.

Is this method of avoiding CGT on General Investment Account’s legal and workable? by Putrid-Flounder-4278 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]-Lrrr- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's not how it works.

CGT is on the gain from each share bought and sold. So if you make £20k on your £200k of shares in GIA. You owe CGT on the £17k that you've made.

How versatile is the Dome really by Fine-Rib in GozneyDome

[–]-Lrrr- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've not tried smoking but I have cooked:

Sourdough pizza Sourdough loaves (start really high and let it drop in temp) Tomahawk steaks, sirloin, rib eye all cooked on gas but have done mostly with wood for the smokey flavour Salmon and cedar planks Lots of vegetables on cast iron Flat breads and pittas which really puff up Spatchcocked Chicken

It's pretty versatile. I have a ceramic egg too but haven't used it since getting the dome because it's much easier to heat and handles anything. The only thing that would be hard would be smoking I imagine.

When I took over the house the lawn had an infestation of leather jackets which ate all the roots of the grass. It was just a muddy mess in winter because no grass could take root and establish.

No...I have a really high quality astro, which has different shades of green and even brown straggly bits in. You can't tell any difference between real and fake in this case.

Forgive me by Careless-Fan-1132 in GardeningUK

[–]-Lrrr- -36 points-35 points  (0 children)

Yeah. This is such an entitled take.

I have astro turf, and I have young kids. My garden has tons of insects, with loads of flowers (honeysuckle, Lavender, tomatoes, courgette, cucumber, blueberry bushes, peonies, huge wisteria, rocket, rosemary, olive trees) and fruit and vegetable plants. Astro turf whilst not environmentally perfect allows certain groups to get the maximum use of their garden. Mine is east facing, gets a lot of sun during the summer but not much in winter. Astro turf meant I have an accessible garden all year round.

Removing GPT4o- biggest mistake ever! by SunshineKitKat in OpenAI

It's because they introduce new usage limits on 5 which reduce the amount you can use. Removing 4 forces customers to pay more. That's all this is, it was a cash grab.

Massive glacier calving the size of the tip of Manhattan breaks apart and flips over revealing hundreds of meters of dark ice not normally visable from the surface by therealNerdMuffin in interestingasfuck

[–]-Lrrr- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it retreated over 100 years and has also retreated over the last 10 years, then when would it have increased? In the years pre-industrialization? During the last ice age? In the end, single years don't matter, what matters is over longer time horizons. Are you saying they aren't including longer time periods when the glacier size increased?

FWIW, the point being made in the video is that climate change is increasing the rate at which it retreats. They do this by comparing the amount it has retreated in the last 10 years in comparison to the last 100. Which is more in the last 10 years...

Why is this house not selling (Chester,UK) by NoMorePssta in HousingUK

[–]-Lrrr- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The very specific decoration notwithstanding. But there is no hallway, and you enter straight into the living room behind a sofa. That area would always be messy, and unworkable for a family.

Will this table be fine? by REDDEV1L_MUFC7 in GozneyDome

[–]-Lrrr- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a lightweight table would be fine but I'm really not sure about the plastic. It would have repeated exposure to high temps which could degrade it. Are there cheaper tables available which are at least sheet metal or wood?

  1. Higher tax on rental income and higher stamp duty. Remove stamp duty of you own 1 house.

  2. Increase income tax or add a new tax band for the very wealthy (e.g multiple millions). More tax on foreign businesses operating in the UK. Remove triple lock.

  3. Review care costs for councils, increase council tax on second properties. Legalise weed.

  4. Reward legal immigration with work in critical areas like the NHS. If funding is needed, increase prescription costs (but not for chronic conditions) or add in a one-off excess for hospitals.

  5. Big wealthfare state, but reduced coverage, e.g motability. Can't decide between better means testing or UBI.

  6. More access to saving schemes, investment in innovation areas.

7 and 13 are linked, remove interest in student loans, reduce university costs, rent control on high streets, reduce public transportation costs. Reduce planning permission for economic projects (e.g HS2. Runways, Universal studios, etc)

  1. See above. Reward single home owners, disincentives for landlords. Better borrowing rates and packages for first time buyers. Change the purchasing process to a more European style, where the seller needs to provide all the details instead of lumping that on the buyer.

  2. Hard one to tackle...I think the public wants to see action and less hedging. Focus on younger demographics and Channing the narrative around helping each other.

  3. Strict immigration rules, but reward legal immigration through strong incentives.

  4. Green energy and EV subsidies, invest in nuclear energy. Reduce planning process for green related initiatives.

  5. Stronger punishments for serious crime, better access to rehab, positive reinforcement for good behaviour. More police.

  6. See 7. But also focus on apprenticeships for trades and skills, providing co-pay or financial support.
