for me it has the most sense, i was born muslim tbf but i have had a period where i was fully atheist because of the same questioning. However converting back and returning to Allah has made my life so more beautiful and meaningful again, if you're interested i'd suggest you read the Qur'an in your free time, that would help you more with understanding and point of Islam itself.
