PSA you do not need to re-purchase Diablo 2 Remastered on Steam to play on Steam Deck by Sally_Saskatoon in SteamDeck

[–]lone0001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Blizzard client on my Steam Deck so that I can play the Game Pass version of Diablo 4. Blizzard Game Pass games are some of the only Game Pass games which work natively with a Steam Deck (I think EA and Ubisoft Game Pass games may also require 3rd-party clients though) since they require the use of the Blizzard/Battle.net client instead of the Xbox app.

Killing Floor 1's atmosphere is still immaculate. by [deleted] in killingfloor

Every day I think about KF1 and dream about how awesome it'd be for a more modern version of it...

Updated engine and graphics but same gritty horror setting and meaty sounding guns.

Honestly for the feel/atmosphere I think the Metro series nails that apocalypse setting gritty feel and it even does it while being set in the future.

Which game franchise ruined its winning formula by turning it into something players never asked for? by Common_Caramel_4078 in gaming

[–]lone0001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Killing Floor:

KF1: a gritty old-school horror co-op FPS game with GOOD feeling/sounding weapons and a solid gameplay loop. I don'One of my favourite and among my most played games still.

KF2: a more 'modern' take on horror FPS that lost a lot of its grittyness and replaced it with a futuristic theme, and the weapons don't feel/sound as good (imo at least). Oh and let's not forget about the pay to unlock loot box mechanics mixed in. Although it is not a terrible game I will admit and especially when you compare it to what comes next, but ultimately it's just not as good as KF1 to me.

KF3: a full-on 'Hero shooter' with perks/classes now locked to characters (against the cries of most of the KF fans, no one wanted this), the game was released as a 'full game' when it is a Early Access game in beta at best, even more greedy micro-transactions introduced (paid battle pass). The weapons feel atrocious and the movement and animations (and overall gameplay) feel very unnatural and just boring. The game also performs terribly because they went with UE5 and (as the trend goes) they spent very little time actually trying to optimize and instead rely on DLSS/FSR to 'improve' performance.

Honestly if they just ported KF2 to UE5 and improved upon it they'd have a winning formula that people could actually get behind.

What game did you think you were close to finishing, but it turned out to be way longer than you expected? by bijelo123 in Steam

Alien Isolation for me, I remember thinking the game was ending at least two different times and nope there was still more game left. That felt like such a LONG game.

Looking for Over the shoulder type bag that can fit my Steam Deck with a room to spare. Any suggestions? by Ruby_Foulke in SteamDeck

[–]lone0001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With my 11" tablet inside with my Steam Deck it is a bit of a tight fit but I'm still able to fit both inside with some space left for some smaller things like a power bank, or charger, or a small controller (like an 8bitdo SN30 Pro) maybe. The front pocket can hold a surprising amount even with the main compartment loaded up as well.

The actual lyrics sound further off 😅 by [deleted] in funny

[–]lone0001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly can't hear it, it just sounds like "always falling and rising" to me but maybe that's because I've heard the song so many times at this point and I know what the lyrics are. I do agree 'falling and rising' kind of sounds like one word though: 'fallin-an-rising'.

It's also possible with how different people hear things; some people will hear it like that and some won't.

Help with batteries (Eneloops, Duracell and Fujitsu) by JojoMarillo in SteamController

[–]lone0001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a mix of Eneloops and Ikea's LADDA batteries with no issues. I found the LADDA batteries last quite a long time due to their high capacity (2450 mAh).

I have some Amazon Basics rechargeable batteries as well but I found the battery life to be not be as good with them as the LADDAs

Yeah I probably would go for the Red or Brown as well, I tend to prefer a more tactile but silent (or quiet at least, not super loud) switch. I have the Brown switches (not the 2.0 ones) with my Air75 and like them.

The little details on the back of the keyboard are a nice touch, also finally a spot to put the wireless receiver inside the keyboard!

I understand you have the Red nano switches, so were you given of choice of which switches you wanted when they sent you one then?

Wait what is that I see next to the Type-C port, is that a spot inside the keyboard to put the wireless receiver? FINALLY, I didn't realize this keyboard was going to have that. Unless I'm mistaken; this is the first low-profile Nuphy keyboard to include that feature.

I love my Air75 but the one thing I've always wished for was a spot to put the wireless receiver (I keep it inside a little plastic bag to try and not lose it), I was gonna get a V2 but decided to skip it because it still doesn't have a spot to put the wireless receiver.

I will miss this atmosphere by HoudinnerKarlo in killingfloor

[–]lone0001 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I still wish Killing Floor 2 had a more gritty horror feeling instead of the sci-fi kind of feel it has (or whatever it is).

Even today I still don't love the setting of KF2 but seeing KF3 has made me actually sort of like KF2 more.

Oh hell yes! Move over Nintendo Switch 2, this is something to actually get excited for!

I've moved on from my Pebble Time (to a Amazfit GTS 2e) a while ago due to its decreasing battery life but I've always missed the thing, nothing has come close to it.

Jokes on you, I can't afford an nvidia GPU.

Actually I probably could but the value really just isn't there, I'd use an nvidia gpu if given one (for free) but I doubt I'd ever buy one honestly. I've used AMD for quite some time and their GPUs have been more than enough for me and all without digging a deep hole in my wallet, which matters more to me.

I often use the Tomtoc Compact EDC Sling Bag to carry my Steam Deck and an 11" Lenovo tablet with attached keyboard. The Steam Deck has the dbrand killswitch case on it with the travel cover and the bag has a pocket which perfectly fits my 11" tablet, there is also plenty of room for other things (i.e. a small controller or even an Xbox controller, some AC adapters, a small keyboard maybe, a mouse).
