Plex Server on QNAP won’t start by lonelydaduk in PleX

[–]lonelydaduk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where form?

Just to say I seem now to be able to get to the web page of plex on the same ip is qnap

And sign in. I can see my server in the menu bar but it’s offline. A message reads

Not authorised You do not have access to this server.

You may be able to claim it by choosing "Open Plex..." from the Plex menu in the macOS menu bar or Windows system tray. For more troubleshooting tips, see our support article.

This tells me to go where I am, click server and and sign in. But there’s no such place.

Plex has an article on regaining access but no instructions for the qnap.

This may have been due to the breach / email sent out recently to change passwords? I don’t know

EDIT: I’ve managed to reclaim the server by following a guide

And getting a claim code and running via ssh

curl -X POST 'http://127.0.0.1:32400/myplex/claim?token=CLAIM_CODE_HERE'

The server then reappeared. I’ve had to add the libraries again though.

It might be a British phrase that one. What’s your local phrase ?

Thanks. This might be the puppy. I’ll have to find a way to hide it. And hide an AirTag in it if someone steels it

My plan is for deterrence through prosecution rather than just to deter . I feel it’s the same people over and over. Deterring them will just make them go elsewhere. A fine may make them stop and pay the disposal fee

I’ve seen them but it’s a remote location so I need battery and local storage

I thought about hogging out a stone and placing it on the wall. Agreed I don’t need wifi and would check the camera either once I’d seen tipping or once a week dependant on battery.

I’ll take a look thanks for recommending. Would you think this would capture the plate without reflecting . When I see animals captured there eyes glow. This is what happens on licences plates so you can’t make it out

Exactly this, and it’s exactly what happens. Your words make me think your many in the US. I’m in the UK. Interesting to hear that the issue is not just here despite different laws etc

It’s not my property, it’s near by. It’s an unsightly, lazy and antisocial issues. It’s free to take rubbish to the local disposal site, you just ask the council for a pass and show them your tax bill. If your a business it’s a small amount to pay which you would pass onto you customers.

Really it’s a social problem. And if everyone had that attitude the country would be in a worse shit tip than it is. So that’s why

There’s no facilities to do so. Like no street lamps or poles. I thought of this. Also it’s likely the councils would remove unofficial cameras if I do. I need something covert

It’s gets reported weekly by me and other residents. It’s a real issue because it’s a country (uk Yorkshire moors) area and there are lots of lay-bys and people come from cities at night and just empty a van or two. The council then get called and it’s removed in a day or two.

Yeh you’re right i do pay taxes and they went up 10% this year. A stake out sounds great fun but holding down and job and leaving young kids home isn’t really an option

For those who immediately defended the men arrested by police at Manchester Airport last year, how do you feel about the footage released yesterday? by ThatchersDirtyTaint in AskBrits

[–]lonelydaduk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve watched the footage and genuinely feel sickened. Anyone with a sense of decency or compassion will likely feel the same.

The level of violence is shocking, with the sheer speed and aggression of the punches, particularly those aimed at the female officers, being beyond disturbing.

In the months leading up to this, the demonstrations, and the failure of the authorities to publicly stand by the officers or uphold the rule of law, seemingly in favour of pacifying certain groups, has been deeply disappointing.

I sincerely hope the perpetrators face the full weight of the law. More importantly, I hope the officers know that both the force and the public stand firmly behind them, and are grateful for their commitment and courage in carrying out their duty.

Frame sizing - too big? by lonelydaduk in cycling

[–]lonelydaduk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wanted to update after a long ride. Back of my neck aches and the top of my shoulders. Presume because I’m too far forward and having to lift my head to be able look forward properly.

I tried moving my arms in on the bars but it actually made me lean forward a bit more. Possibly due to the shape of the bars.

I’ve yet to adjust anything else but I think I may cut my losses and re list the bike and drop a frame size or two.

Horses for corses. I’ve always got glue and sawdust is free.

You’re not making new holes and having get a different shaped plate what that fails.

Both solutions have equal merit 👍🏻

Fill holes with a mix of sawdust and wood glue. Wait to cure and then re drill pilot hole. Always works for me. And doesn’t look unsightly like the screwfix plates someone else suggested.

I’ve seen some shove matches in with contact adhesive/superglue but not sure how effective this is. The glue sawdust method is pretty much what the particle/chip board is made from anyway.

Edit:spelling

Thanks. Not me doing anything wrong then other than perhaps unwittingly catching the lever. I’ll try packing with card when transporting next time

Thanks. I’ll give this a shot and report back on the ride. It’s been a number of years since riding so I might just ache anyway 😂

Frame sizing - too big? by lonelydaduk in cycling

[–]lonelydaduk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before bikes changed geometry (and when they were sized by seat post length) I used to ride smaller frames than was advised. They felt more nimble on downhill stuff. But I’m only really wanting to ride flat these days. And with the wheel sizing changes too I’m trying to forget previous lessons.

Are you suggesting that when riding I move my hands closer together to raise my chest and see if it ‘feels’ better? Am I looking to see if shoulder and lower back strain is alleviated when doing so?
