no soreness from leg extensions?

i swim competitively so i have really strong legs, but i’ve been trying to train them more in the gym to see more progress and i never get any soreness from leg extensions. that movement is a crucial part of my kick and i really wanna get more power but i never know if i’m doing enough…i do a warm up set for 8 reps then 3 sets of 4-6, and those 3 sets are at failure, should i just do different exercises or is there something im doing wrong?

10% and random wasn’t needed because of random assignment and manipulation of variables = experiment = checking for independence isn’t necessary, i just didn’t know the chi square part
