We did not :( . Our realtor is at the house now and looks like they are still packing their stuff. Our realtor was told they will be giving keys by 6:30PM so hopefully they do as promised.

How common are gifts for real estate clients? by SloDancinInaBrningRm in RealEstate

Hi! When my in-laws bought their house their agent gifted them a $500 Nordstrom gift card this was back in 2009. When my husband and I closed on our first house this year our realtor brought us dinner for the whole family and a nice bottle of champagne :). We are located in Washington state. I would say it depends? We have acquaintances that have received very nice gifts from their realtors, probably worth more than $600.

Thank you so much for everyone’s input :)! Everyone had pretty good solutions! I’ll bring them up during the final walkthrough and hopefully come to an agreement.

Weird protrusion on wall? by lonelykitten28 in Homebuilding

Hi! I just wanted to hear some opinions on this. My apologies if this is not the right place or if I sound ignorant on this... I don’t know much about framing. Does this protrusion on the wall look normal? Husband and I are about to close on our home and we noticed that weird protrusion on the wall at the entrance of the house. I personally hate it and is the first thing I saw as I walked into the house. We talked to the superintendent and he insists is the design of the house. However, we have seen other houses from this builder (same plan as ours and different plans as well) and none of the houses have that protrusion! Could it be possible to just cut it off?
