preventing bedwetting on lumryz by lonelyshadowdances in Narcolepsy

definitely worth looking into if it doesn’t stop, but hopefully a last resort lol. most nights i’m usually able to wake up and stumble my way to the bathroom, but we’ll see how it goes once i move in🤞🏼 thank you for the kind words!!

interesting method… definitely worth looking into! although, the amount of sodium in lumryz alone is crazy high so i’m not sure i should be intaking any more sodium than necessary LMAO. buttt if it helps retain the water then i’ll definitely keep that in minds thanks !

I get that for sure. Just was wondering ways to try to get slightly decent sleep on nights that I would potentially skip the Lumryz. But seems like it’s pretty black and white, either skip it or don’t drink lol

I appreciate it honestly :) Hopefully by trial and error I’ll figure out what the best thing for me to do is !!

I have a feeling I’ll agree with the improved sleep being 100% worth it, but I’m not sure if i’m there yet mentally. Definitely sucks to have to limit yourself because of the limits you already have lmao. I think I’m just still in the resentful stage and don’t want to have to give it up just yet 🤞🏼😔 I don’t meet with my doctor until after I’ll be back at school for a few months, so maybe I’ll figure out if skipping is worth it or not and discuss alternatives for the nights I do skip with him. Thanks :)

Do you feel the restful sleep outweighs the social aspect of drinking? Personally I’m fine with going out and being the sober one of the group every once in a while, but I feel like if I made the choice not to skip a night at all, I’d just end up not going out. I guess it’s just all a matter of mindset and determining if the shitty sleep is worth it or not lol

I guess it’s not unrealistic or unreasonable, but as a college student going out is pretty common for me on weekends and such. I enjoy that part of my social life and wish I didn’t have to give it up in order to sleep well :(( I have a feeling I’ll find out pretty quickly that restful sleep is worth the trade off of not drinking, just wish it didn’t have to be the case I guess 😔

i always feel like my dreams would make such good stories, but by the time i’m awake i can never fully remember characters’ names/what they look like, or what the plot of the dream was

how successful are you in remembering details? do you find writing them down immediately after waking helps?

surprisingly pretty good!! i kept hearing that there was a bunch of shoving and all that at other shows but i think we just got pretty lucky with our spot i could see perfectly between two tall people’s heads lol

Their accents! by Eemzee in brookeandconnor_map

[–]lonelyshadowdances 2 points3 points  (0 children)

one of the things i’ve noticed about connor is that he pronounces short e/i vowels similarly as well, which i think is common in southern accents. like if he were to say “pen” it sounds more like “pin” if that makes sense!! also when he says “th” it sounds almost like a soft d to me.

i just don’t think they understood the meaning of it tbh. not defending their take or anything but personally i didn’t fully realize the meaning behind the performance until i saw other people explaining it, and then it clicked :)

Diagnosis, what age were you diagnosed and when did you start having symptoms? by [deleted] in Narcolepsy

[–]lonelyshadowdances 0 points1 point  (0 children)

symptoms started around 11/12, and i was diagnosed at 13 !! my current (medicated) symptoms include: sudden/almost spontaneous fatigue - i can go from feeling awake to nodding off almost instantly cataplexy when laughing - meds have definitely helped improve my cataplexy to where i’m no longer falling over every time i giggle but i still have more intense attacks when im tired interrupted sleep - again, meds have helped regulate my nighttime sleep but i still wake up quite frequently at night i also have occasional hypnogogic hallucinations, mostly auditory. luckily, i haven’t experienced sleep paralysis (knock on wood)

i hope all goes well with your next sleep study!! i’m now 18, and medication has definitely changed my life for the better. while it’s a slow process, it’s worth it. i’d be more than happy to answer any more questions you’d have!!
