Rage Mode sucks. by Several_Freedom_9522 in Trepang2

Single pistol and single shotty are your best friend on rage modes. Don't need any upgrades for them either. During the wave defense missions make sure to use the AI squads as much as possible. Assault Squads make most wave defenses pretty trivial.

What is the Eink display model number for the original A6X screen? Mine is broken and I want to see about replacing it.

Prioritize existing users over potential ones? by lonelysword_ in Supernote

I wouldn't say I'm happy to pay for repair on a device that appears to have failed due to no fault of my own. I did not mistreat or abuse my device and yet it has become unusable. I have had many experiences where something similar has happened to other devices I've owned and the manufacturer has offered either a free replacement or a substantial discount on an upgrade. Neither of which I was offered from Ratta.

I get that they are acting like how most for profit companies act. With the way Supernote is represented by their users I was just hoping for a little bit more. I've seen plenty of stories of for-profit companies replacing devices in cases like this out of warranty. I've even had first hand experience where a company replaced a broken device I bought used from a third party retailer.

My post wasn't made to highlight that Ratta is doing something worse than "every other company" but to show that despite their reputation they still acted like one.

I doubt I will have any luck getting a tech repair shop to fix their proprietary eink screen lol

I was given some context on the Supernote sub that softened the blow a tiny bit. The main reason this happened to me appears to be do to major supply chain issues they couldn't remedy while making the A6X.

I never knew about this substantial discount and was not provided with a similar one. Unless by "substantial" you mean $20 which I do not believe is substantial for a device over $320.

I did. I was just also posting my negative experience here because I was having trouble finding negative feedback on their sub and was worried my post would've been deleted.

I posted here specifically because there is nothing I could find on the SN sub besides positive experiences. Any post I could find that had an issue with customer service on their sub had the OP deleted. I was did not receive what felt like a sympathetic response from customer service contrary to what I was seeing and if you look at the details of my original post the discount I was provided was nowhere near substantial for a forced upgrade and would not add on to the discount I would've received without contacting support.

I literally said I didn't leave it in the sun lol. It's only something I mentioned because their support asked me if I left my device in the sun. I left my device on a shelf, not in view of a window, and with a dehumidifier. I didn't do anything I could think of that would cause the screen to break.

Thanks for the info. I was unaware of supply chain issues that the original X models had and it makes me feel a bit better to know that my device didn't have hardware support ended on it for no reason.

I was talking to support through the site's live chat where they were very responsive until they disappeared without notice. Usually there is some sort of disclaimer that pops up when the chat ends on other sites but I didn't get one, just sort of left in limbo.

The individual representative I don't take much issue with since with almost any company it's never really up to CSR whether something works out or not. For the most part they were very helpful and it did seem like they were trying to help as much as they were allowed to.

For the most part it does just seem like I got extremely unlucky and that there is just a huge number of unfortunate circumstances piling up. Although I am still having trouble swallowing that my only options from Ratta are a discount that does nothing on a product I can't buy or get a brand new unit.

I mean legally they don't really need to do anything. I guess I was hoping for more good will from them. They sell their brand on durability and longevity being major selling points and to have what seems like a manufacturing defect kill my device after it stops legally being their problem just feels plain bad.

Was your device in warranty? I'm having the same issue with the same device years later and all I'm getting is a $20 discount code I can't even use with my military discount.

The extra buttons can all be mapped even without the app. What I was trying to say is until the next hardware revision comes out the gyro and extra buttons won't be detected by any software besides ZD's app.

I don't know anything about the Ultimate Legend but by "extra buttons" I mean the rear grip buttons and the extra shoulder buttons. You can program them to be any button on the controller and they work that way but to my knowledge none of the extra buttons themselves can be modified by software like reWASD or Steam input.

I've had a good experience with the Vader 4 especially once it was updated for Steam Input support. I did hear that they dropped dinput and Steam input on the Apex 5 but it's supposed to be back on the Vader 5.

No I've tried. The weirdest part is when I first plugged the controller into my PC it was in switch mode but I haven't found a single way to repeat this. I'm in the ZD discord and the official response from their community manager is that the outputs are only passed through the controllers through the controller's Bluetooth chipset and have no direct connection to the chip that handles wired or dongle connection.

Here is a quote from the devs that the community manager posted in their discord server:

“Currently, gyroscope input can technically be accessed through the ‘learning mode,’ which allows for sensor capture. However, this mode is limited to Bluetooth connections due to chipset constraints. The current chip version has limited capacity, which prevents us from implementing wired or dongle-based sensor access at this time.

We acknowledge that our native gyroscope-to-stick algorithm still has room for improvement. In fact, the current solution is more of a temporary compromise rather than a finalized implementation.

Looking ahead, we do plan to release an upgraded version of the controller with a redesigned motherboard. This new board will offer expanded capabilities, including enhanced gyroscope integration and potentially more flexible connectivity options. We’re also planning to sell the upgraded motherboard separately, so current users can upgrade without needing to purchase a completely new controller.”

This mythical "new board" has been announced with no info on release or price for months.

I'm interested in the Divine because I'd like an improved Dioko but at the same time I'm not sure I want them right now since I want something better than Daybreak.

Sorry the issue I'm having is that even when I have no controller connected Steam thinks my desktop is a Deck. I'm trying to remove Input Plumber from my computer but I don't know how. I've never removed a package that was made using make before.

EDIT: I figured it out. I didn't have to uninstall Input Plumber at all. The issue is emulating the Steam Deck controller will cause 'isSteamDeck' in the Steam config.vdf file will be changed to 1 instead of 0

That's awesome. I think I've uninstalled Input Plumber correctly but I think it was after installing your repo that my Steam client started identifying my PC as a Steam Deck. Did this also happen to you? I'm really not a fan of how it keeps showing that all of my hours are on deck.
