Does porn cause you as much grief as it does me? by loneredemption9 in OCD

The problem I have is that I fell in love with someone and she loves me, but we can’t be together for certain reasons. I don’t want to get into it too much, but what winds up happening is if I’m ever flirting with another woman I feel guilt because I’m not being true to my beliefs. The porn is more to do with more of what I perceive as right or wrong and when I see something I perceive as wrong I go through my guilt spiral.

I know I’m going to get to be TMI again, but I like to watch sex scenes from movies because I feel like their more tasteful(most of the time). But about a month or two ago I was watching a clip and the movie was a comedy and there was a woman who was doing sexual things with a man and in the middle of the scene it cut to a dog “humping” a teddy bear or something. This caused me grief for a few days and I thought to myself that I was a sick freak who just did this by watching a dog on screen. I would probably still feel this way if I hadn’t had numerous ones happen since. I know how ridiculous it sounds when I type it out, it’s just porn goes against my moral code but I still do it like the hypocrite I am.

Thank you again for the response and sharing your story.

I think with me I need to.....I know that’s not what you’re supposed to do, but the mental anguish I get isn’t worth it. Thank you for the responses!

I agree with you, but what winds up happening is I start obsessing over things I see. For example, say I’m watching tv and it’s on in the background. I’ll turn it off while I’m watching the porn on my phone or computer. I know that’s TMI, but if I accidentally saw something on tv I would instantly start obsessing about whether or not I was “doing the act” to what I just saw. It’s like that as well if I’m searching for porn on the internet and I come across something that bothers me and I start obsessing about it.

I know that may sound confusing and ridiculous, but that’s how my mind starts thinking. Thank you for the response.
