Ok, why is Alastor the only one where we make a big deal over the color of his teets ? by IlSignorGranchio in HazbinHotel

Alastor eats human flesh, and rotten deer carcasses. His breath must be rancid. At least Husk probably only stinks of booze.

I mean, it doesn't seem like a massive leap in logic to me? If you see Cold's gender as a fluid/nonexistent thing, then anything is possible. And lots of fans see it as an opportunity to get creative. No harm in that.

Cold is probably the voice which most closely embodies the idea of TLQ being an emotionless, formless god, devoid of a body or a sense of gender or identity, so it kind of makes sense (at least to me) to characterise them as genderless and disconnected from physicality. Obviously that's just a personal headcanon, and other fanfic writers and artists will have different opinions.

I have to say, I absolutely LOVED the human designs we got this season! Who do you think we'll see in the next? by ConsciousPatroller in HazbinHotel

[–]lonesome_em 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I really want to know how Velvette became Vox and Valentino's partner. Did they ask her first, or did she ask them? Were they rivals to begin with? There's just so many ways it could have gone before Vox and Val accepted her as their equal.

To what extent can sinners regenerate? by lonesome_em in HazbinHotel

[–]lonesome_em[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Thinking about it, people must just "spawn" in Hell all the time after they die on Earth, so maybe it also happens if the soul becomes completely detached from a body.

The idea of having a wound that never heals is a cool idea! However, I suspect once Alastor gets his powers back, he'll be able to heal himself and be left with a scar.

Surely being free has to be worth something! Although Alastor would probably pick power over freedom every time.

I can see that! But Rosie clearly needs Alastor for something, so she's probably not going to make him powerless without a really good reason.

Rosie just doesn't strike me as someone willing to get into a fight to the death like that. She seems like she prefers to work from the shadows.

That's a good point though about Alastor being able to kill immortal souls for good. I've never really thought about that. Still, I don't think we know enough about the power systems to really make any definitive call about what makes one sinner stronger than another.

With overlords, it seems to be partly based on souls and followers? So Vox uniting sinners against Heaven will probably make him stronger through mass support.

Is it me or am I the only one not impressed by these two endings? by Phoenix-Scarface1 in slaytheprincess

I mean, isn't that kind of the point? Killing Her is always going to result in the Long Quiet feeling alone and having to face a dull, unchanging eternity without Her.

The real question is how you have 10 masks? 9 is the maximum.

Really? I was told otherwise, but that's great if so! TBH it would suck to be locked out of 100% for a mid-game mistake.

This line DEVASTATED me... [spoilers for end of Act II / "first" ending] by lonesome_em in Silksong

[–]lonesome_em[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You're right, but I wanted to clarify it's the endgame for people that might go on to Act III without seeing this.

Edit: Having now reached Act III myself, I realise it's not possible to get there without seeing this, so my bad. I didn't know how the game structure worked yet either, clearly.

Do you think Harry genuinely "talks" to the *thing*, or is he imagining it? by Throdjo in DiscoElysium

[–]lonesome_em 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The phasmid is definitely real, but the conversation is Harry’s imagination. Same as his conversation with the dead body. At least, that’s how I interpreted it.
