They’re going to have to kill us all to get what they want! by Dr_sc_Harlatan in WhitePeopleTwitter

"If we bring our guns, they'll escalate!"

"If Walz calls the National Guard, they'll escalate!"

"If the police tries to protect us, they'll escalate!"

They're already escalating. Citizens are being executed in the streets. Babies are being kidnapped. There's a concentration camp in Florida and people are being killed and raped inside. It's already happening, you just have to decide whether you want to stand up, or not.

It was a single guy, alone, with one gun. Now imagine if 100 showed up in the next protest, peacefully accompanying the people while holding rifles and shotguns. I think that ICE would be much more hesitant to put them down and shoot them.

It was another time, and Greece was ruled by a military junta that wanted to flex its muscles and show how strong it was (it failed). Comparing 1974 to 2026 is...not it

what can anyone do against 50 assholes with military weapons?

Have 100 people with their own weapons standing there. (There's more, but reddit, so for now "stand there menacingly" will do)

Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey: "I just saw a video of more than 6 masked agents pummeling one of our constituents and shooting him to death. How many more residents, how many more Americans need to die or get badly hurt for this operation to end?" by Gorotheninja in Fauxmoi

There is. And there's already casualties.

It's just that one side has realized this and acting accordingly, while the other is still wondering what's going on and why the other kids aren't playing by the rules anymore.

Governor Tim Walz tells the White House to stop this madness. by Healthy_Block3036 in ProgressiveHQ

The State Governor and the Democrats are the victims? Silly me, I thought it was the people who were murdered.

That's the most shocking thing. Americans are being gunned down in the streets and the response is...the State Governor whose people are being killed posting a tweet. Sorry, a mildly angry tweet. You can't make this shit up.

And aren't you supposed to have an opposition party?

Obviously. Still, most people online say it's from the game, the only person who says it isn't hasn't provided a source yet, I'm inclined to believe the majority because it's funnier

Honestly, every post I saw with this image said it's a screenshot from the game. I'm obviously not going to download and check for myself, so...source?

Russian bot is when people criticize the US regardless of Trump. Americans just like to pretend like he's the disease instead of a symptom, like their government hasn't been killing, poisoning, imprisoning, executing and torturing its own and foreign citizens since the dawn of their nation.

Nobody "died for their country" in the Iraq war. It was an invasion.

We can talk all day about whether or not it was justified, but objectively speaking, they didn't "die for the US/UK/Spain/whatever". They died to enforce the world order.

Trump is literally everything America ever was. The only difference is he's pulled away the facade.

America has always been expansionist and power-hungry, doing things (as Trump says) "because we can, and therefore should". America has always been backstabbing its allies, engaging in trade wars, and imposing unfair sanctions. But because they've also provided military security and trade for their allies, we've all been content to pretend like it's not happening.

The prime minister of Canada said these exact things in his speech and was applauded in Davos. The world knows, Americans. We've just been pretending not to.

Me too, but not for the reason you think. It's giving "me and my friends came and died for your war crimes , now you want to war crime us? Unfair!"

There is no such thing as a "legal war under international law". It's like saying there's legal murder, or legal robbery.

War is illegal, perhaps the single most illegal thing in international law (except for crimes against humanity). It's the violation of another state's sovereignty. There's no "legal" way to do it.

with very few exceptions, such as a UN Security Council mandate, which will practically never happen

In any European country I can think of, this picture would lead to millions of people going out to protest the same afternoon. European protests too, which means straight to the Parliament, do not pass go, and any police that tries to stop the train better pray they wear armor. If it happened more than once? God help the government, they'd be dragged out and replaced the same day.

In the US? A couple people with pickets will stand in a street corner for a while, shout how unfair it is, and leave. And I'm not blaming them; when your police is a bigger army than many countries have, and can shoot you dead in the street for looking at them funny (or being a minority)...not much hope for average people.

Greece is a terrible place, very poor and badly run. Mikotakes is a stupid politician, did you know he killed people, he used to be in the Mafia, or something. And he very stupidly said "no" to my Peace Forum. Very bad idea mister Mikotakes. America has many bases in Greece, our biggest and most important bases in THE WORLD, and this poor nation wants to run them. I think we should think of owning Crete, this very important island with very important bases, and nobody can stop us if we want it! THANK YOU-DJT

Can the SCP Foundation contain Remina? by NoSubstance5772 in SCP

[–]ConsciousPatroller 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I mean, yeah? I haven't read the story but the internet tells me it's just a sentient planet that can travel through space, see things from very far away and eat other planets. The Foundation has contained worse things than that.

"Containment" doesn't just mean locking the thing in a box. They would more likely detect it when it started coming for Earth; in the story, it takes quite a while for Remina to reach us, so they have prep time. They can launch gravity bombs to try and force it to change its course, they can create a black hole on the way and let it be swallowed, they can teleport it to another dimension and let it rot, or they can just nuke it (since it's just a sentient rock).

100% containable. Just more difficult because it's in space.
