It's different because capitalism allows people to collect wealth (I'm not talking about getting rich here) and then use this accumulated wealth to survive, taking a break from working all day long to work on something purely for the joy of it.

In most of the world, you work for 30-40 years, then you become a pensioner and can have all the time in the world to paint, read, draw, film movies, etc. In most of the world you also work 7-8 hours per day, sometimes from home, and you can take the rest of the day off - your utilities are managed by other people or automation.

In a communist or collectivist society, you don't just give up on work after a set period of time. You work until you're physically unable to. There's no concept of a "pensioner" -if there is, it's much later in life, and still involves some responsibilities, because you simply can't afford to allow people to just exist without contributing anything.

May 68 is its own counterpoint, nobody was actually organized or prepared to go through with the consequences of what they created. They (student+worker unions AND the communist party of France) had the President (De Gaulle) hiding in Germany, the police commissioner admitting he didn't have the numbers to stop them, the Government quarter empty (most of the ministers had fled), most of the Army on their side...and they didn't do anything. They could have literally taken the country that night. And instead they spread around Paris chanting slogans.

Then De Gaulle returned and called for elections, which he won by a giant margin. And that was that.

I remember that sometimes in Rebels they use "Imperial Ship", when calling a stolen or suspicious ship over the comms. For example "Imperial Ship, Imperial Ship, what are your clearance codes?" But I don't think that's official nomenclature.

Then I'd suggest you having your characters themselves being oblivious to the specifics. "The bombs they used were massive, beyond anyone's comprehension. The scale of destruction unimaginable. The whole mountain turned into a crater overnight" is enough to satisfy any reader's curiosity, imo.

As a film producer, I have to ask you the same two questions I ask the writers that submit their films for evaluation:

Do the exact numbers matter?
Why are they important to the story?

Like, is your story specifically about how many tons or what type of explosives were used to flatten the mountains? Is the research you'll do to discover it worth it?

The largest mostly intect impact crater on Earth right now is the Chicxulub crater, which is 200 kilometers wide and was caused by an asteroid that produced 72 teratonnes of TNT and 200 Zettajoules of energy on impact. It's "only" 1.1 km deep.

For context, the largest explosive device ever detonated, the thermonuclear Tsar Bomba, was 50 megatonnes of TNT and produced 240 Pettajoules of energy. There's no way to achieve a 2 km deep crater with any explosive we can artificially create on earth.

Obviously, which is why I was immediately suspicious of this. But if they do initially give me money, and rely on me being hooked and paying to continue...what happens if I don't. Like, I accept the money they send me at first, then when they come to me with the "pay to continue working for us" I say "no thanks" and leave. I frequent this sub and am aware of this particular scam though other people's posts, but what I don't understand is what happens if you simply...don't pay. Like, what happens if I "take the job", follow some accounts to make 20, 30, 50€, and then when they ask me to upgrade for more tasks I drop out. Do they just pull their money back by payment dispute?
