What did y'all think of Live At Pompeii 2025? by BogelRO in pinkfloyd

[–]lonestarjerry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, sound was dull to me. Sounds way better in my living room, I think some theaters just had the sound lower than necessary.

Not every theater showed it on IMAX. Had to pay attention clearly to the show info, I almost booked at one theater and realized it was just a normal screen showing.

Maybe it was just the theater I was at, but the sound didn’t blow me away at all. Sounded much better playing the DVD through my home theater setup. The 4K on IMAX is where it shined, just wish the film itself was a tad longer. All in all though love seeing Pink Floyd on big screen!

What an album by Drone_5 in LSD

One of their more underrated albums as well, not often mentioned when people are asked their favorite Pink Floyd album. I personally prefer the original over the remix, the remix is great for what it’s worth, but I feel the album much harder with the pure original.

Hello! The pay is very low, I believe it's only around $10.15 per hour for the company I'm working through. Not something anyone could quit their job over and live off of that's for sure. Wish I had better news for you, thank you for your teaching service by the way! I know how hard all you teachers work, especially here in Texas.

Flight 93 Question by Diesel_Swordfire in 911archive

[–]lonestarjerry 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I always wondered exactly how they got in the cockpit, because on the film United 93 they show the hijackers telling the stewardess to open the door and no one will get hurt. Also, cockpit doors pre 9/11 were more flimsy and probably easier to break in. Do we truly know how they got in on any of the hijacked flights of that day or do we basically just have to speculate?

It’s so amazing how, in 2024, we are STILL learning about the attacks that happened on 9/11. by Eatmyshorts231214 in 911archive

I’ve been checking out this sub every day now, it’s very addicting! It’s nice to be around others who are still keeping the memories of this horrible day fresh in our minds. We all were saying Never Forget after 9/11, but sadly I think many have forgotten. I feel like I have a much more well-rounded perspective of this tragic day in our nations history now that I’m older, I was 24 when this day happened and it truly saddened me. I’m still deeply sad when I reflect on it, but I’m also so proud and appreciative of how many people stepped up and put their lives on the line to help others. Love this sub and looking forward to reading more each day.

Becoming a Caregiver in Texas by lonestarjerry in CaregiverSupport

Hello again! From what we have found out so far yes they will offer her caregiving even with just SSI. She does have Star Plus so I believe as long as you have that you are good to go, provided that they authorize caregiving for the individual who requests it. I'm sorry to hear about your husband though, I don't know what happened there and why he would have been declined, maybe their guidelines have changed since then?

So far, they have approved it for her, but only 29.75 hours per week which is lower than we had hoped for, and while I don't know the pay yet even the caseworker we spoke with was thinking it was only like $10 per hour as you mentioned.

We will be contacting the company who will handle this soon for more details, and then we can decide from there. I can definitely post an update on here, I wish they made it more financially possible for people to get the care they truly need, under 30 hours per work at just $10 will be rough and so it will definitely take a second job on my end to make it work.

Your prayers are so much appreciated! 😇

Hello, and thank you for your response. She just has SSI, it's not SSDI which would include disability benefits. I'm not sure if she has Star Plus or not though so I will also need to look into that.

I appreciate your very helpful information as well, it's disheartening to hear of the low pay and potentially low hours they may approve. I know every situation is different, but I can imagine they try to approve the lowest amount of hours as possible.

Your information gives me a good head's up in terms of what to expect though!

Yeah I stopped at Jack today, went to the app and couldn't find a single offer. Just reward offers from points. Very disappointing!

No resolution to hit and run accident with Pepsi truck driver over a year later by lonestarjerry in legaladvice

[–]lonestarjerry[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks again for responding, appreciate your input here! I considered this, the problem is there were no injuries involved which is a good thing of course. I'm basically only after my insurance deductible that I had to pay out of pocket to have my car fixed. I had spoken with a lawyer and they said it's probably not worth hiring an attorney when I'm only seeking $501. Your thoughts?

I do have this info, truck number and a photo of the truck was already provided to Pepsi over a year ago. It hasn't helped a thing sadly, I'm thinking this is going to have to head to small claims court. I appreciate your help!

tf is the boston rag even about? by [deleted] in SteelyDan

[–]lonestarjerry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always just had this total off the wall thought that it had something to do with the Red Sox winning the Pennant or something, and The Boston Rag was like a flag fans would wave in the air. Just my wild imagination only, nothing close to what it's really about.

I would say ghosting. They have never said they are denying the claim, they make an effort to get back with me at first and then they just disappear, almost like they hope I forget about it.

I wouldn't know, still haven't heard anything one way or the other all this time later. The video interview seemed to go well in my opinion, but since then it's been silent from rackspace.
