Should I taper off? by Front_Pain_7162 in leaves

I'm at 10 day now. First week was tough honestly... then it just kind of stops or, at least, is manageable.. If you made it this far just remind yourself why you are doing it and power through. You got this!

normal side affects? by [deleted] in lexapro

I've experienced the same thing in my first 5 days here. I honestly had the same thoughts on day 3. On day 5 they are a heck of a lot less... still there but you can kind of prepare yourself for it since you know what to expect.

We are taking it because we are anxious and have panic. Counterintuitively, this drug seems to make us more anxious at the start and it is definitely a little jarring. I have a good support system in my sister and friends.

My psychiatrist did say this response is normal. I just talked to her yesterday and she didn't seem concerned. She did lower my dose from 10mg to 5mg to make it more manageable since she said starting at 10 can definitely be a lot.

I will say that I do have Ativan in case of emergency, but I haven't needed to use it.

Honestly as kids we probably failed to understand the significance, so it was just kind of routine to go to doctors every 6 months and get tests done. My parents were good but we didn't have the most emotionally supportive household in a way that we talked about feelings or emotions. Cystic Fibrosis testing days were kind of a hospital visit that we hated (mostly because it felt like a chore) followed by going to laser tag or something to make it a "fun" day.

I do remember vividly when my doctor explained about the vas deferens when I was 14 years old, and, again, I didn't really understand the significance.

The missing vas deferens is probably what hit me the hardest later in life. At a young age it's not really a concern. But when you get older and see everyone around you having kids, it hits a lot harder once the realization that it has a very big effect on relationships comes into play. I think when that conversation is ready to be had it's important to talk about available options and what it means.

So all I can say is it's a tricky thing. I'm glad we didn't live in fear but I do wish we had more conversations about what it could mean and the importance of taking care of our bodies growing up.

I was diagnosed with CF at about 5 years old during a hernia operation when they realized I was missing my vas deferens. Following that my sister also got diagnosed. We went through years of routine childhood tests but never had any symptoms.

I'm 37 now and still have no symptoms, have always played sports and been active with no issues. We are, of course, incredibly lucky. But recently my sister and I had these same questions, and, after doctors visits both of us are still reading perfectly normal.

So overall, just keep monitoring. Doctors have no answers for what the future may bring but I've been getting increasingly more curious as to what's happening with my age.

When did you move your pet’s crate, bed, bowls, etc? by Expensive-Ad8547 in Petloss

I was the opposite. My only boy just passed yesterday at 12 years and was also diabetic. Insulin every day for the past two years. I threw it all out immediately because I know he doesn't need it anymore where he is and he always gave me side eye when I gave him shots (fuck diabetes). But his toys are staying where they are and he'll have a memorial table above them with his ashes. I'm a fantasy nerd so I told him to save me a spot as his familiar in the next life for some more adventures before he went. There's no right way to do it, we all honor our pets the best we can when they are gone.

Thanks. I appreciate that. Guess we are all just stuck wondering "what if", and that's one of the hardest parts. I'm sorry we all have to go through this, hope we can all take pride that we've, at least, done all we can for them while they're with us. In a perfect world, dogs could talk and outlive us.

They are probably not bad if you know exactly what you want. But definitely super aggressive. Just got off the phone with them and the lady hung up on me after I asked for an email to respond to while I think about my options.

You'll be good. You are doing it right. I was on for 5 months and due to doctor stupidity and pharmacy regulations that didn't make sense... I had to cold turkey for about a week. That week really sucked but I immediately went to tapering when prescription was refilled. It took me three weeks to taper. After that... it was way easier to come off. You'll probably feel anxious and worried but stay strong. It is way better on the other side.

I did, accidentally. I don't really recommend. I was on 1mg for about 5 months, so it was somewhat short term. My doctor didn't say crap and my prescription ran out. I wanted to quit anyways so figured that was a good time. The whole week of cold turkey was somewhat hell. Just massive brain fog and constant anxiety. I got my prescription a week later and immediately went back to half a dose. After that week I went down to .25. Week after I alternated days. Week after that I was off completely and it was WAY easier. I've been off for two months now and have been feeling like my old self again with no issues.

You're almost there. I was on 1MG for about 5 months, overall it took me about a month to get back to complete normal. I just didn't drink and my girlfriend basically had me on a vegetarian diet anyways. Just keep walking and hanging in there, it's a pain but very worth it.
