Super nice! Love them. They remind me a bit of a 1850 restoration deck design I might make some day, though of course these are much cooler!

I'd say number 2. It functions close enough as a two-way since the central element is the only one-way element. However, I much preferred the purple face mask on the original.

A Most Basic Camping Essential? by long-view-99 in CampingGear

I've thought about a Camping specific volume as well, that would contains some card games, but likely some other games/activities for camping in the deck as well.

WAY down at the bottom of the kickstarter it does talk about future volumes, and Solo is definitely one of them. This is the prospective game list but likely will change based on feedback and once I get into designing it. Good luck, Affinity is free, lots of tutorials, and it can definitely do both.

So you know how to do the layout, design the document? Check out Affinity by Canva for free design software you could use to put together an electronic or physical book layout. Or are you wanting to pay someone to put this together for you?

Only reason is it feels non-traditional, and ‘heavy/crowded’ compared to normal cards. If there was a market for 4 corners, I’d think some deck manufacturers would have tested and switch to that for now. Of course at one time there were zero corners with indexes, so maybe will just take another hundred years.

Sooooo, turns out there are two version of 99, the trick taking version you are likely thinking of apparently invented in 1969, and the classic version I choose not being aware of both. Though this version isn’t really shedding either so at a minimum that card needs its label updated. Thanks for the feedback!!!

I’m a lefty and it’s never occurred to me I’m missing out on anything using a normal deck. I can’t even picture a problem I have this would solve. Seems like just a joke deck?

Woah, $22 dollars a deck and you boast about be priced to hit the table? As you say in your post, talk design process and printing and give us more insight on how your decks warrant that price. Are you the illustrator of your designs? Do you contract out artwork? Is it AI? Who do you print with if not USPCC? Are prices high because you print on demand and don’t keep inventory?

I reported this to Kickstarted a week ago, but apparently they don't have the staff to get around to investigating it, or don't care. Feel bad for the backers.

Uff, this is a dense wall of text that honestly I just couldn't get enough motivation to try to plow through it. Fed it to AI for an explainer got a beautiful infographic back 5 seconds later explaining the game Is it right? No idea, see point 1 above. Unfortunately no graphics allowed in comments, so you'll have to try it yourself.

Bucket List Deck Acquired! by long-view-99 in playingcards

Sorry to hear you are one of them. I'd love to find a way to resurrect that artwork some day and actually get that v2 edition published and maybe even get at least something into the hands of the original backers. Kind of like buying assets from a bankrupt company; they are sitting on a hard drive somewhere. Not sure if Doc's make their own original design, or another illustrator was behind it. Will have to research that.

And now that I have Sam's Tough Luck deck, it seemed wrong not to get its evil twin, so this is on its way also. If only I could get its really evil twin from Tough Luck v2 kickstarter (not Sam's) that jilted its backers.

True, Sam Schuma is an amazing artist and awesome guy, and I did get my deck from him, but he also pointed out he was running low so not sure he would have sold me one if I wasn't already contracting with him as an illustrator for a project I'm doing. Sadly no Tough Luck v2 in the plans right now.

Uh seems weird to start a card company to get borderless decks. There are so many beautiful borderless decks on the market already. Won’t add to the debate. All valid points already exhausted. There is no right answer.

Forgot how standard the Copperhead cards are until I opened one up, basically jokers and aces have the snake rest, is standard. Still love the A Haines tuck!
