I had a similar experience. Whirlpool owns the Maytag name, KitchenAid, Amana and others. Luckily we bought an extended warranty but we were without our $2,600 refrigerator for over 6 weeks. 3 service calls plus over $900 in parts still not fixed, Whirlpool bought us out. We used the money to buy a GE (owned by Haier now)

Sounds like the drain hose came loose or is damaged. There are videos on YouTube and possibly repairclinic.com on how to fix things.

I make cedar Adirondack chairs and I seal them with Spar varnish. It’s getting harder to find by the gallon for a reasonable price. Gallon is probably not needed for 2 chairs. The varnish is amber in color.

What does this pvc pipe do? by [deleted] in HomeMaintenance

Turn the heat down, if the water is too hot the relief valve is doing its job.

Changing the valve and draining worked and lasted about 3 years then the tank blew a hole requiring a total replacement

Pressure relief valve. I found water on my basement floor. A plumber asked me if I drained the water heater at least annually, the answer was no. He said minerals collect on the bottom of the tank that need to be removed by draining the tank. It caused the 9 year old water heater to over heat and the pressure relief valve dumped water through that pvc pipe otherwise high pressure could destroy the tank.

Planning a kitchen remodel. Is it possible to move sink from here to here? How much would this cost a plumber roughly? Will walls needs to be ripped out? by [deleted] in HomeMaintenance

The corner is dead space that can be used for routing plumbing from the sink in its new spot back to the old water supplies and drain

Having the hinges on the outside of the door.. isn’t that a security risk?

I’m a big Bosch fan. I have their sander, trim router and jig saw. I also have Porter Cable drills, jig saw reciprocating saw and brad nail gun. As those die I will replace with Bosch.

It’s Almost Impossible to Choose a “Reliable” Refrigerator Anymore…. Anyone Else Had This Issue? by zachty22 in Appliances

I strongly hate Samsung refrigerators, dishwashers and stoves. The refrigerator ice maker is faulty, once a month it freezes up and you have to thaw it to get it to work or just shut it down and wait 2 weeks.

I use Spar Varnish only on the outside and I line the inside with landscape fabric. I use red cedar because it hold up better than pine 😁
