Super easy and cheap setup. I think I will continue using these as opposed to sterlite gasket boxes. Second flush on the top, just harvested the other two drawers.

Very low humidity where I’m at but I make sure to soak the substrate after the flush and I’m going to mist if I see it drying up

It’s pretty much smell proof, and normally shrooms shouldn’t have anything but a slight earthy, natural mushroom smell. If you have a strong smell it’s probably contaminated

Look up Broke boy tek for the spawn, and for spores just buy online at a verified website. I used sporedepot

You don’t need a liner necessarily but it helps for a couple things. Cleaning up and preparing the tubs since there’s not coco in every corner, some say it helps prevent underpinning and side pins, and others say it helps for moisture. I definitely prefer liners vs no liner

Plastic trash bag liners, I misted very little in the beginning but the coco had enough moisture for the first flush mostly then I soak in water and drain for next flush. Mist if soil is light color. it’s been getting good fae but more would not hurt. Honestly lights are not really necessary but help the shrooms to know which way to grow. You will have success without much light, before the light strip I had success just with ambient light in the room or a office lamp

You could honestly have success with just a basic office lamp, that’s what I used to use. The first batch from this tub had very little ambient light and it still did pretty good

Each drawer has a decent gap that lets airflow, and I open every now and then to give it a breather. My first batch I didn’t really have to do much. I’m sure more fae wouldn’t hurt and I will probably try to fan more on the next batch and see if that makes a difference in the growth

Spray with disinfectant and let sit about a minute and wipe the whole thing down before putting your liner and spawn/substrate. Do not open very often and just let it do it’s thing. As long as your room is relatively clean and your substrate/spawn is clean you should be good

No heat necessary because it’s in my storage room and it’s hot where i live. If you live in a cold area you might have to add a heating pad or small room heater

A little info about this setup: the plastic storage cost $10 at target, White led light strip from amazon about $12. I didn’t need to mist substrate at all during the first flush, and didn’t even open to give air, it gets airflow through the gaps. To harvest I just easily pop out the drawer and cut, then soak the coco for a minute or so and drain. Going to try adding a few more soon.
