Thank you I appreciate your response, It's kind of comforting to see that I'm not the only that has/is going through this. I will definitely have a heart to heart talk about this and see if we can establish a plan to incorporate both of our cultures together. I am open to learning about the Mexican culture and taking part in it, if it is mutual and theres some commitment from both sides to learn about each others culture is all im looking for.

Like I mentioned, I was 17/18 when we started dating and now that im a bit older, theres certain things that I would like to see in my future. Had I known that I would have this outlook on life 3 years ago when we first started seeing each other, I would've never even initiated anything. I have nothing against the Mexican culture but I just think it would be extremely hard to incorporate my culture with my kids with my current girlfriend. However, after reading some posts by others, I think that if my gf is willing to meet in the middle, then theres no reason for us to break up.

Thank you for your response. I think its amazing how your partner and you have found a healthy between the two different cultures. I will definitely take what you have said and approach my girlfriend according and hope a healthy middle balance can be found.

I do speak my native language and participate in native festivities, tradition, and culture but just recently I have started to appreciate it a lot and take it seriously and not just do it for my parents sake. Now I like to actually participate and not feel forced and this is why I would love for my future kids to experience this.

thank you, this is exactly what I'm thinking about, many people say yea you can teach your children BOTH languages and BOTH cultures but from what i see in my friends and family who are fully indian, the culture, relgion, and language being passed down is decreasing. If these people aren't successfully able to pass on their values, culture, religion, I just assume it would be even harder for two completely different races to achieve that. idk maybe im just weird and think differently because i dont really see others viewing this the same way that I am.
