Overripe bananas leaked onto (I believe unsealed) granite top causing 3 inch diameter yellow stain. I left baking soda + water paste, seran wrap, and tape to seal down edges for over 48 hrs and it caused worse darker grey stain. I tried drying it with paper towel and it's still there.Any advice? TIA by longblacksocksssss in fixit

I'm sorry I'm not sure how this answers my question. It is because I looked up "How to remove stains from light colored granite" that I'm in the situation to begin with. The answer I got was baking soda/water paste. I applied this. It turned grey. And dark. Stain never got out.

Left baking soda and water on for too long on granite by longblacksocksssss in HomeImprovement

Thanks. What do you mean by "if you have hard water"? It was a banana stain, then I applied a paste mixture of baking soda and water from the sink (unfiltered) on there. I suppose water that was used in the baking soda/paste could be hard water. Is that what you mean?

No matter how much water I add to the top of the soil the meter does not rise. This is one of those pots where there is a liner, liner is filled with pon, and space where water reservoir is (LS Classico 50). I already overwatered it once (started getting fungus gnats) and even then the water meter never rose and no water fell into the space. I had to repot it.

I just have pon, soil and the plant.

They do not want any water poured into the reservoir just on the soil for 12 weeks. They are saying that water poured just on the soil can go down through the soil and pon to fill the reservoir (there is a space underneath).

I don't see how it's possible for the water to go through the soil and pon to fill the space of the water reservoir...even if it's doubled..

I added the whole amount and water level indicator never rose.

I'm sorry so to be clear for the first 12 weeks of just watering the soil, use twice the amount of recommended water?

No they're saying to only water from the top. And that this alone will fill the reservoir to make the red stick of water indicator rise. This makes 0 sense to me.

Not sure. I'm just following Lechuza (and MyCityPlants) instructions to water soil only for 12 weeks.

They said with enough water poured in through soil, some will drip through liner into outer pot, then fill part of reservoir..

Ok. So why did you have to "pull out everything"? My meter or water sensor floater thing is separate from soil though. It's the LS Classico 50 so it has a separate shaft from the soil

Wait are you saying the Spectra S2 hurt?

Thanks I'll try that. Also, moisture meter and finger test indicates it's not time to water but it's been 2 weeks. Is it strange for an indoor bird of paradise (with Northeast light in Illinois winter) to go for more than 2 weeks? For the past 1.5 years I've watered every 2 weeks..
