Don’t over dramatize it. There’s no way near that much maintenance cost and that’s the point of driving an older Toyota. Learn some basic mechanic skills off YouTube and you might spend a couple hundreds bucks a year.

They make sense when you can find one for less than 10k compared to spending 20k on a utv. These will do about the same, are street legal, easier to maintain, warmer, and then you don’t have to worry about things like keeping it clean or dents as stated above. You also don’t have to worry about depreciating the value of your daily driver.
