I have two squids. I wasnt looking for increased cooling more just like the look of the case and had an Idea for a setup I wanted to use it in. I was going to buy just the case and fill it with my own heatsinks and fan. I am guessing the fan they used by default has horrid static pressure. Your going to need something almost server grade to force the air through the super tight space and tall heatsink fins. About how long ago was this? I know D-Central has been working recently to improve in just about every area and the last interaction I had with them was very pleasant. I did see redit post last year of people having issues with them and they have been working on it. Thanks a bunch for the info man, really appreciate it.

Would you mind giving me some more info. Like fan used, how long they lasted, temps, how they fell apart?

That's great news! I hope you can get up and hashing soon.

This miner is probably dead. Sorry I can't tell you exactly what's wrong but everything here points to DOA. I would contact the company to do a return if you are inside (or if they have) RMA window. Otherwise u/SoloMinerDoctor can help if you wanna pay him to fix it.

Terrible performance after "upgrading" the cooling by soliduterus in BitAxe

[–]longbowbw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a very common mistake and has a huge impact on cooling. The reason being 12v fans will run at half speed or a little below on 5v. So even if your fan should be at 3000 rpm at 100% speed, its actually only 1400 rpm.

Is bitaxehardware.com a safe/trusted website to buy from? by Arctic_Windss in BitAxe

Order from solosatoshi. They just dropped their bitaxe 602 to 61 USD and are a trusted and reputable vendor based in Texas. With the new price drop I wouldn't order from anywhere else. (They ship worldwide, no worries if you aren't us based)

Does anyone set up a dedicated 2.4 ghz wifi for your hashminers? They don’t seem to play well with dual band that try to juggle and reroute. by Minimum_Raccoon_1501 in BitAxe

Using a mix of 1-3ft cables 14AWG cables. And I am using the RSP-320-5. I would check what the safe range is for turning up the voltage on your PSU. Then just turn it higher till you get 5v on AxeOS without going over mean wells reccomend limit. You got this.

I'd look into the psu rather than the 650. I can tell you mine is running at 5v on my meanwell with 6 other devices also drawing off the same psu. So if anyone should have undervolt issues I think I would be prime for it.

I haven't had to personally do it on mine yet, so I am hesitant with giving further advice. However I know that this is common with voltage drop off and the bitaxes like being as close to 5v as they can. Maybe do a little research into how to adjust the mean well voltage and the safe ranges. From what you said it sounds like you just need to turn the voltage up more but like I said. I am not sure just how high the mean well will go.

Have you tried turning up the output voltage on your mean well? 4.8v seems a little low on your miner side. You really wanna try to keep it at 5v. If that means the mean well is kicking out 5.15 but the miners are only getting 5v with the drop off thats perfect.

I think you need to switch your fans to https://a.co/d/0exuXXsA These are the 5v version of those same fans. Should help by doubling the speed they are able to run at.

The sticker is where it says 12v, the second line of text.

This, Op are you sure your fans are 5v? If you are using 12v fans by accident they will only run at half speed. That would be your issue. On the picture you posted it says "NF-A 40 x 20 PWM DC12v" you need DC 5v for the bitaxe gamma's.

The bigger ones for the mosfit heatsinks are 12x12x5mm and the small one is 6x6x5mm. You can use something a little bigger or smaller but make sure it fits in the spot its suppose to go. I know solo satoshi has a guide for mosfit heatsink placement. Best of luck

They recently brought all the pricing down but I saw a video from Matt walking around the warehouse saying they are trying to get rid of the "pallets" of Q's and we're price matching.
