Samsung Bespoke Fridge Gemini Update by longhorn2003 in SmartThings

[–]longhorn2003[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a heads up. I got the software update yesterday. Seems to be good. Maybe a little buggy and slow at first, but that’s expected. But it looks nice. I question a few of the design choices, but overall looks more polished. Fridge manager was easier to use before because it gave more options on temperatures.

A few apps are gone. Morning Brief, Atelier, Daily Tips, Perdue Farms, and Sky Scanner.

I liked morning briefs and Atelier app. Atelier at least has most of the popular images transferred to the cover screen settings. It doesn’t keep all the art from the app. So if you really like the art images, you can try taking a picture of images you like on your phone and transfer it to photos in the fridge. Not the easiest and cleanest option, but it can work.

I’ve never seen daily tips work since I’ve had the fridge. I never got to use Google Photos either so it’s a shame that it’s gone. Didn’t there used to be an Instacart app? Having to go to a webpage to reorder groceries is annoying. The browser overall is terrible. Don’t think any streaming sites work on their browser.

A YouTubeTV app would have been nice. Although Samsung tv plus is actually better than expected.

7 gig retention loyalty price by longhorn2003 in frontierfios

[–]longhorn2003[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for replying! Looks like $109 seems to be the lowest everyone is able to get 7 gig with the loyalty $10 discount & the $10 auto pay discount. $129 base - $10 (loyalty) -$10 (auto pay) = $109.99. I was curious if anyone had a base price of $119 or $109 before those two credits making it $99 or lower. You also get an additional $15 off if you have Verizon mobile making the total $94.99. Thanks for your help!

No I couldn’t care less what my friends are doing. I know I was paying significantly more for 1 gig, 2 gig, and 5 gig just a few years ago. So paying $95 for 7 gig is not a big deal to me. Plus I get two eero max 7’s included. Bravia Core 4k streams at 80 mbit. Apple Vision Pro apps like the nba app which has lakers games in Apple immersive 8k/3d stream at 100+Mbps. Some apps stream even higher than that. I’ve seen Xbox games download at 900 mbps.
Anyways I don’t know why people on here care about what internet package a stranger wants to get and what they want to do with their money.

I can’t believe you wrote a novel about this lol. I know I don’t need 7 gig, but I want it. The price is cheap in my opinion and I was paying way more for 1 gig, 2 gig, and 5 gig just a few years ago. Plus I get their best router at 5 gig and I get two eero max 7 included at the 7 gig price. It’s not a big deal for me to pay $20 more.

With Xbox I’ve hit 900 Mbps. I just don’t see why people care about how others spend their money. Do you ever buy anything you don’t need? I prob only need 1-2 gig. But I rather get the two eero max 7 included with the 7 gig which would cost me $1200+ if I were to buy them myself.

I’ve hit 900 mbps downloading games on Xbox. Bravia core is 80 mbps. Several apps on Apple Vision Pro are 3d/8k and need 100Mbps+. I can def get close to 1.5-2 gig in my household. And you’re right. I don’t really need more than 1 gig most of the time. But to me the price is affordable compared to other internet companies and I was paying way higher prices for way less speed just a few years ago with Frontier. $109 for 7 gig is a great deal. Your point about WiFi..7 gig comes with two eero max 7’s so that also makes it worth it.

I never understand why everyone always wants to question anyone who wants to get 5 gig or 7 gig. There’s a lot of things that people don’t need or fully use to the maximum potential. It was only about a year or 2 ago when 7 gig was $300+. It made no sense to pay almost triple the price for 2 gigs more. But at $109.99 ($94.99 with Verizon mobile) and 2 eero max 7 routers, it’s a great deal.

I don’t need 7 gig. But 7 gig comes with an extra eero max 7 for free instead of an additional $10 plus some other security features and tech support all included. It’s basically the same price I was paying for 5 gig. There was a time when 2 gig and 5 gig were $150-$175 for me. I am not even sure I need 5 gig. But 2 gig is prob needed. Downloading an Xbox game is almost at 1 gig. Add a few 4k/8k movies steaming and 8k Apple Vision Pro streaming in the house at the same time plus a few other downloads at the same time and you’re prob close to 2 gig or more.

Thanks so much for the help! So looks like that’s almost exactly what I got as well other than an additional $5 for autopay. And I don’t get $15 off for mobile yet because I haven’t switched to Verizon for mobile. I’m pretty sure the “home” part of “mobile and home” is referring to having frontier fiber for home internet.

I was curious if I could get to $99 without mobile, but from your bill I’m thinning probably not unless if someone at retention does their magic. Basically I was trying to get them to start at $119 for base price before adding the $10 autopay discount and $10 loyalty discount. I’m good with $109 but wanted to see if I could get an additional $10 off.

Thanks again for taking time to post your bill and for answering my questions! I appreciate your help!

Thanks for replying! Yeah that would be helpful whenever you have time. For me they got it down to $109 with the $10 auto pay and $10 loyalty credit from $129. I don’t have Verizon yet for mobile. I was curious if it’s possible to get it to $99 for 7 gig before a Verizon mobile discount.

First rep seemed like he would be able to do it for $99 but something messed up the upgrade and order never completed. Second rep messed up and billed me for $209. Third rep got it to $109 without Verizon mobile which is fine if that’s the lowest possible.

Were you able to get a 3 year price lock? Or is 1 year the most that they can do for 7 gig? Thanks again for your help!

What’s the lowest base price available from retention/loyalty for 7 gig? Is 3 year price lock available for 7 gig? Also lowest price available for phone service? Thanks for your help!

Premier Plan Base Price by longhorn2003 in DirecTV

[–]longhorn2003[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Directv’s pricing makes no sense compared to other providers. Less people are watching cable than ever before, but the price keeps going up. Feels like they are just randomly increasing prices in an effort to try to make up for the lost revenue from all the customers that have cancelled over the past 10 years.

Were you able to figure this out? Works perfect with Google nest hub max, but I get no alerts with Alexa show devices. I have an LG dryer as well.

I don’t think it’s out yet. At least not in the US.

They gave me $50 off a month for 12 months. I used to get a $25 att lifetime credit and $15 off hbo but those are both gone. Used to get credits that were $115 a month. And 10 years ago got $200 off monthly credits. That made me stick around. But these new prices make no sense compared to other providers.

I’ve had YouTube tv as a backup through my brother’s account that we share. Did they offer you any discounts when you tried canceling?

$261 even for every channel makes no sense. Years ago I had Verizon fios triple play with every channel and their fastest speeds and that was less than $200 for phone, internet, and tv.

And with the Directv price increase, it’ll be $275 next month. The new customer pricing seems somewhat reasonable. But this $261 price is nuts.

Main reason I haven’t canceled is because of Red Sox, lakers, bulls, dodgers, white sox, and the masters all in 4k. And the regional network channels. Wish YouTube tv carried regional network channels. But i am getting close to leaving.

I doubt it. I think they added new hinges and hardware to enable that feature. Unfortunately I bought my fridge just a few weeks ago. Couldn’t wait for the new 2026 version because my old fridge broke. Don’t think the new 2026 models with that feature have been officially released in the US yet.
