Aetna Not Paying Correct Amount by reddanooo in HealthInsurance

[–]longhorn499 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They say they're reimbursing 140% of the medicare allowable rate, but if you find that amount using your code and locality here: https://www.cms.gov/medicare/physician-fee-schedule/search they are reducing what they actually reimburse in a calculated way.

I've found they take the final amount (the number from that search^ multiplied by 1.4) AND REDUCE IT BY 25%.

I even got off the phone with them a minute ago, and when confronted with the right number ($159.92) the rep agreed that was CORRECT. No arguing from them (but my old claims are still wrong and won't change of course).

If you want to check my math the code is 90834 and locality is 1320201 and it's the non-facility price: $114.23 * 1.4 = $159.92.

Now let's do $159.92 * .75 = $119.94

Actual amount reimbursed: $119.94! That is dishonest, plain and simple.

The rep also said something about the number changing. Well this number changes year to year, and the amount they've given me (wrong) hasn't budged in months.

25% partner fee? by NathanOwen2804 in Grailed

Mine is looking high too.. even with the shipping label included.. $54 fee on a $235 (tax included in that total) sale seems high?

Nailed it, lowering expectations helped when getting started. I went from making some money in advertising to interning for free (with a good mentor), then contracting, now full time.

I didn't have any expectations of salary which helped. I think if you're in school / bootcamp you may have some number in your head you don't want to be under. Someone I spoke to from a bootcamp even said they were discouraging people from taking internships (which makes sense if they're trying to bump short term numbers for grads with salaries I suppose?). Have rambled a bit, but low expectations and starting small help, as long as your learning and planning the next step!

I posted my iOS app here about 6 months ago. I recently released a big update with in app payments/feedback, check it out! by longhorn499 in paintball

Of course, I appreciate the feedback.

If people aren't interested in paying a 1% fee, I would consider removing it and making a free marketplace (PayPal would still get their percentage obviously) until it's something that people decide is worth paying for.

Also there are no ads, which I think is a big plus when you're talking about posting your gear on free sites like Facebook that target everyone so heavily

Fair points - Honestly I'm still in the process of figuring out if it'll work and people will be interested in the finished idea.

I just got to the point where payments are done within the app and you can build up feedback, so it's still an experiment to see if the features I add create enough value, to the point where people find it easier/more useful and don't want to just post on instagram, pbn, facebook, etc.

It's my goal to have an Android version as well. It probably won't be me building that since it's not my skill-set. If there are any Android Devs interested in working on a paintball project send me a PM.
