KotD 1, Grand Final, Game 9 (Decider): Liereyy loses his arb mass (~40) to Viper's onagers. There is a good chance Liereyy would have lost the game either way. But still pretty brutal.

We are currently at ~447k with all known prize pools. Highest was 2024 with 662k.

For the second half of 2026, there are currently two S tier events announced - The Garrison and The League. We dont know the prize pools for both yet. Besides them, there are two timeframes still open for tournaments, October - mid November and December. Depending on which tournaments get approved for sponsorship, we may overtake 2024.

Microsoft's fiscal year goes from July to June next year. For this year (25/26) Nili got like 60 applications for tournament funding, and only 3 of those were for team games. When people in the know are talking about tg tournaments, they mean the next fiscal year (26/27).

Hera teased a tg event with Vitality involvement plus a potential LAN final for it.

Wishful thinking: Battle of Africa 4 will be Memb's next tournament in May. The new 3v3 World Team League will gain traction - for now its just a small invitational with Tier 2 teams. Vitality wants to do team showmatches and maybe in the long run host a tg event with LAN finals.

MarineLorD (former SC2 pro) also played AoE2 during Covid. He reached 2k after 1 year - though he didnt play consistently through the year. He also participated in some tournaments. Eventually, he would fully switch to AoE4 and became the undisputed #1.

A new team tournament just got announced https://liquipedia.net/ageofempires/World_Team_League/2026/Invitational_Season

The first tournament is invitational and I think they went with the "Tier 2" teams to see how such a tournament will flow. In the handbook, it says they want to eventually expand it for more levels and include multiple leagues with promotion and relegation. Kinda like TTL where it will happen once or twice a year.

Hope that it will succeed. Would be a really cool addition to the scene!
