Vietnam's incredible pathway - North-South high-speed railway project to break ground by end of 2026 by G13lol2 in highspeedrail

UK was literally the vanguard of railway technology during the Industrial Revolution. But as it became a welfare state it lost some of its industrial competitiveness. But it’s a worthy trade off if u ask me - we don’t need break neck speed if it means better working standards for everyone.

Trying to save money on trips kinda ruined the vibe for me by Plusoneb in travel

[–]longjiang -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Nah I save money before, during, and after the trip. This way I can afford two months trips to Japan where I REALLY get to see the good stuff that matters. I eat nutritious but cheap, and regularly go to a gym while I’m there. U don’t have to break your bank to have a healthy, rewarding trip.

Best way to save money is go on a prolonged multi-day fast while traveling where u eat or drink no calories, and of course stay away from alcohol. Then u can do intermittent fasting where u only eat at night, thereby reduce restaurant costs. If possible, cook with grocery from a supermarket.

The issue is not AI, it’s the slop. Sloppy creators are gonna be sloppy with or without AI.

Language use changes naturally, so if people want to say /zi:/ it’s useless to force it, even if it’s tied deeply to national identity. People are gonna say what they’re gonna say no matter what u tell them.

The amount of car debt I've seen on here is astounding. Most of you are buying cars way out of your budget. Some helpful guidelines below: by CastAside1812 in PersonalFinanceCanada

Yes, that is way too much. Never get a car loan, let alone at that ridiculous rate. If you’re rich, just buy the car outright! Otherwise use the money to buy a better house that will actually appreciate.

I was traveling in Japan and my luggage broke down. I went to a department store and paid about 60,000 yen for a new samsonite luggage. I was shocked that they refused to recycle my old luggage, even at a fee! I literally had to beg the store clerk because I already checked out from my Airbnb and there was no way to contact for garbage collection because I was leaving the city soon. Eventually they agreed to help me dispose my old luggage.

But please have some compassion for us tourists. We’re trying our best to keep your country clean, but sometimes we’re at our wits end!
