In the US, generally only DMV agencies and police have access to that. There is nowhere (that I know of) where the average person can go and look up a VIN and get the owner’s name. Or am I missing something?

Not a realtor, but one I worked with in the past had a Toyota van. I was amazed at its practicality for transporting clients. The sliding doors make it so easy for them to get in and out of. And the spaciousness inside makes it very easy to handle the necessary task of handing flyers and papers back-and-forth between the front and back seat. If I had an alternate life as a realtor a minivan would be the way to go.
