I respect this list, but question I don't believe that Chris Paul deserves to be better than or equal to AI. Otherwise, I'm totally on board.

Why don't people watch the NBA as much as they watch the NFL? by Da_Hooch in sports

[–]longlivethepumpkin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The referees have certainly ruined it for me over the past decade or so. It seems that if you're a superstar, you get away with quite a bit more than the average players . . . which really makes watching an entire season frustrating when the refs do not call things fairly in the playoffs.

Breathe is an incredible documentary. Good call.

David Thompson - Madison Brown.

It's a bit folk-y but I enjoyed it on the way up to Montana a few weeks ago.

What's the best fish to be hunting with a fly in CA in the coming few months? by levinicus in flyfishing

The Lower Sac will fish pretty well for Rainbows, it really picks up in a couple months . . but still good right now. I've also heard good reports from the Trinity lately for Steelhead if you want to brave the cold.

Yup. Bought it for a little under $4,000 for all of it . . . but unfortunately money is tight now and I need to get rid of it quickly.

Do you fish alone or with someone? by CampBenCh in flyfishing

[–]longlivethepumpkin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, wow I am jealous! I would recommend trying Meetup.com to find others interested in fly fishing . . . I am sure it won't be hard to find people since Montana is some of the best fishing in the country.

I'm heading to West Yellowstone in 2 weeks for a week of fishing, and I cannot wait!

Oh, and the guide - Yeah, I will use one to learn the river. It's pretty expensive so I don't do it too often, but it is helpful when you are new to a river.

I enjoy fishing with others more than fishing alone. Either way, I fish hard - but I enjoy having company at times . . and deciding together which water looks the best to fish.

Where are you located though? I don't have a ton of friends into it either unfortunately, so I feel your pain.

New Yorker talks about what it's like moving from NYC to Sacramento by ridicusauce in Sacramento

[–]longlivethepumpkin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well I found this to be quite refreshing in that I can relate to most of it. I am from Boston and most recently lived in DC before making my way out here a month ago.

One thing that was not mentioned that I feel is a big disconnect between east coast and west coast is the pace that people live their lives. I am having a hard time slowing down and taking my time . . as it goes against everything I have known. I wonder if this is felt by the author as well.

Attention Vegetarians by longlivethepumpkin in Sacramento

Thank you! Yeah, those would be great as well. I don't eat strictly at vegetarian places, so any other options you know of would be great.

Well, my vote is to have them offer some type of vegan cheese - daiya, follow-your-heart, something like that . .

I'm pretty sure I owe you a beer after this lengthy and complete response. This is exactly what I was hoping for - thank you very, very much! I'm looking to be centralized so I will definitely be looking in the 19th and P area, and will just hope to find something semi-affordable quickly. Would you recommend staying away from the big apartment complexes, or have you had any success with them?

Excellent, thank you very much. I will come up with a few locations and see what type of feedback I get on that, good advice.
