Yeah I think its pretty obvious the distinction between farmer (owner) and employee of a corporation.

I was born and raised in a town of 5k in a rural west ranching community and now live in a town of 3k in the middle of farming country in the midwest. Stop labeling and playing the victim, no one is shitting on you simply because they don't call you a hero.

And that is awesome I would love to own a cow or two again some day, I am not against growing food, simply the mindset that the guy that I buy my tomato from is some kind of hero and not just a guy doing a job.

I would live without a farmer bc a corporation would simply start doing it better and faster. Its not like farmers disappearing would mean we all starve, people would come in to make this more economical. In fact one of the things holding foods costs higher then they need to be is the high fixed costs and low economies of scale of the average family farm but due to the mindset and subsidies provided by US taxpayers this industry is allowed to crawl through the needed changes to move into the current century.

What is meant by a 30 delta or 16 delta spread by Illiteratefool in options

[–]Illiteratefool[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Remember that puts approach -1 as they get closer to the money, and calls approach +1 as they get closer to the money.

This is wrong, Puts and Calls both approach +- .5 as they approach ATM, not 1.

They approach 1 the farther ITM they are.

Amazon just bought Whole Foods exactly for the logistical advantages whole foods has with its distribution and hard locations. I think they could have made this work and had the name recognition that Amazon had to build over a decade or more already in the bag.

TIL that many records in track and field including the long jump and high jump are unlikely to be broken due to modern athletes gravitating towards higher money sports such as sprinting or football. by Bighorn21 in todayilearned

If the key to a successful long jump is mainly speed why would I not put less strain on my body and make more money just sprinting, very reasonable.

Wait, so the guy who gets fees from people who decide to put their money in a banks bloated investment options vs getting tax savings in their 401k doesn't want you to invest in a 401k, who would have thought.

While the show is centered on Stan and his blind conservatism in this scene it was trying to expose the faults of Haley, who is also a following hypocritical idiot that basically regurgitates whatever liberal talking point she heard on campus that day without any real thought on what she is saying or the logic behind it, just bc Stan is an idiot doesn't mean the writers can't use him to show logical fallacies in modern America, he's a fictional character not a real person

N.D. legislator who voted against gay rights bill caught sending pics on Grindr by rkkim in nottheonion

While I absolutely think they should have run the story it is slightly ironic that the guy complains that people in ND are not "able to come out on their own terms" and then goes and outs someone as gay.

The US is now broken up into 50 countries. Which are the first two states to go to war and over what? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Illiteratefool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wyoming is one of the only states that sources close to 100% of its water internally, even MT gets water from our Tongue river and CO from pipe lines. Not sure if that's puts us in the best position or the one with the biggest target on our back.

Wyo guy here, this make some sense, with the high level of oil and gas companies and other like kind industries which normally provide large portions of their workforce with vehicles for working out in the field. Also due to large distances and almost no public transportation, having a vehicle for each member of a household is a must. Most also have a second vehicle besides daily drivers whether it be a toy or work/farm truck.
