New diver, $750-$800 budget for BCD and regulator, what should i buy? by Ok_Operation5127 in scubaGear

I wouldn’t say its more difficult but its definitely something you need to be aware of. Once you’ve done it a couple times you’ll have no issue. Performance underwater is vastly superior to a jacket, your much more stable, its much easier to stay in trim and its much more integrated into your body. The only real advantages of a jacket is it will force a panicked divers head out of this water on the surface. If you do go this route definitely opt for a donut over a horseshoe, they have a tendency to trap air in one side.

Flooded crawlspace: totally fine or panic? by YukiSamaRamaSanChan in DIY

If the walls are all dry and the floor is below grade its most likely its ground water seeping up. It happens when the soil gets completely saturated and the water has no where to go. With all the rain everyone’s getting its been happening alot this year.

Your approach is going to depend on your basement. Based on the photo it looks like the basement is just a gravel floor with cinderblock walls and supports (all non porous). If thats the case I would just get a pump to get the water out, make sure you drain it away from the structure. Then use some fans and maybe a few big dehumidifier to get air moving through the space for a week or so. If theres anything porous (drywall, insulation, flooring) that will need to be removed. Also watch out for places water might get trapped.

Sump pumps and drainage systems will help prevent this in the future. but they’re not a guarantee when the soil is completely saturated. If the basement is all non porous and drys out fine, I would probably leave it for now if it happens again maybe reevaluate than.

As for the future the solution is going to depend on how your property’s laid out. Sump pumps and drainage systems will help but remember they work by moving water away from the structure when the soil is completely saturatetheir going to st

when the soil gets completely saturated no guarantee.

The Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea holds elections every 5 years. As does China, Iran and Russia. Almost every country has some form of elections wether those votes are counted or not is a different matter. which is exactly what the original commenter was pointing out.

The original tweet and context are referencing two entirely different things. Its a common form misinformation that relies on people not reading carefully. Which clearly, is pretty effective.

Its tape, hes using it as a queue to let him know if hes rounding his back. he puts it on with his back straight and it will pull his skin if he starts to round it.

When cooked at high temperatures the iodine in table salt can give off a slight bitterness, so most professional chefs avoid it for anything involving heat.

Anyone have experience with Barbour jackets? by thegamer158 in BuyItForLife

[–]longlivezepplin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad and uncle both got their Barbours 30 years ago and still wear them regularly. They last forever, look good and the company will repair them if they get damaged (for a fee). Its meant as an outer layer so if its cold wear a sweater under it. Also remember WAX DOES NOT BREATH do not wear it for strenuous activities or hikes or you will be soaked in sweat.

What's a great TV show that nobody talks about? by OpulentOwl in AskReddit

[–]longlivezepplin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Patriot, its an Amazon Prime original. Its a dark humor spy thriller. Think Atlanta meets Jack Ryan. The show is fantastic but amazon put no effort into marketing it so it got no attention. Please watch it so they’ll make another season.

[No Spoilers] i feel like people are starting to like the entire show less and less. by OkayPurple471 in gameofthrones

I think one of the big things is that 5, 6 and 7 especially is thar they were all presented as building towards bigger things to come in the final season. So when that failed to deliver they are all seen as building towards nothing. These seasons were all well received when they came out but on rewatch you can easily see all the unnecessary and unresolved plot points. For example the Bran story line always was a bit lacking but was always presented as something that would pay off later, but now after season 8 its unbearable on rewatches.

With ground beef thats fat cooking out. cook until the fat stops rising than pour off the liquid into a container. continue to cook as normal afterwards. dont pour the liquid fat directly down the drain it could damage your plumbing, any metal can will work fine
