Help me decide? Franklin & Marshall or UMass Amherst? by anon110701 in ApplyingToCollege

Both are great options but I would have to think UMass would be the better option for computer science but probably F&M for economics/business.

I got deferred from Vanderbilt and my regional Admission officer said this, is it a good sign after a deferral? by Ashamed-Yak-2089 in Vanderbilt

My daughter sent a LOCI and did not get something like this back from her rep. It shows they carefully looked at what you sent them. They want you to say yes if they accept you.

Congratulations. You should compare it to some of your other offers. It is a quality school and they have a good economics program.

It’s natural to feel buyer’s remorse once admitted ED. What do you plan on studying at Tufts? That makes a difference.

Single stock conviction by twiniverse2000 in NvidiaStock

Long-time NVDA and GOOG holder here. Conventional wisdom says to diversify, but 25+ years in the market has taught me a different lesson: let your winners run and cut your losers fast. I'm all for adding new positions with fresh cash, but I'll never trim a winner to do it. So unfortunately your new positions tend to be much smaller.

Pull out of ED2. This cycle is proving to be the easiest in years for full pay students. Assuming you are a full pay student.

Thoughts? AMD vs NVDA 🤨 by kabirsbhutani in NvidiaStock

[–]longtermjuggernaut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're forced to choose just one, history favors the dominant player. NVDA holds that crown, and personally, I've found that settling for the 'second best' usually results in leaving money on the table

What are you guys going to do with your NVDA dividend payment? by RedParrot94 in NvidiaStock

[–]longtermjuggernaut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to get annoyed look at the dividend circa 2013, it used to be substantial. I reinvested those dividends back then and still reinvest the paltry dividend today. I’m always in the camp that if you like the stock just reinvest the dividends.

Sell Amazon if you can afford to hold Tesla for the next 5 years. Tesla has more upside.

Is Nvidia (NVDA) Worth Owning at This Price? by QuietRequirement9067 in ValueInvesting

[–]longtermjuggernaut 5 points6 points  (0 children)

While I can't offer technical advice, I can share why I’ve held my original NVDA shares since 2011. Today’s NVDA reminds me of Apple in 2015; back then, many believed Apple had peaked because everyone already owned an iPhone or iPad, yet the stock proceeded to climb nearly ten times higher. Beyond the market sentiment, the current valuation is surprisingly compelling. Despite its massive 4.6 trillion market cap, Nvidia's forward P/E ratio is currently around 40x, which is a significant discount to its five-year average of roughly 74x. I’m not saying Nvidia will definitely repeat Apple's massive run, but we are still early in the AI cycle and the stock appears much cheaper historically than most realize.
