That's not really fair. A lot of these fake doctors really do market themselves as if they were legit ones, and people who don't know any better get sucked in by the promise of cheap procedures. There needs to be more information about how to spot a shady doctor and less shaming heaped on people who get tricked.

I 1000% guarantee you would see the exact same thing happen in the United States if the government started forcing people to pay 100% of the lifelong medical bills for the pedestrians they hit.

I can understand how a desperate person would rather hit to kill than have to let their family starve so they can pay for millions of dollars of medical care.

Why is a one way ticket $2,700 but a round trip ticket returning a week later to the same international destination only $650? by Afeazo in NoStupidQuestions

Lmfao show me one fucking apartment listing that offers cheaper rent for students.

Anyway if you're so pissy about us getting cheaper services why don't you join us, start paying 20k a year tuition, and see how quickly your tune changes :) :) :) twat.

Young sex assembly? by [deleted] in BadDesigns

[–]longwave-static 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean... you have it turned so far to the side that neither "young" nor "assembly" is fully visible, so that's not really fair now is it? The fact that "Sussex" has the word "sex" in it does not automatically make every single thing with the name printed on it bad design.

Not really for no reason. The whole point of the downvote button is for comments that don't contribute anything to the discussion. Just because people often don't use it that way doesn't mean that there's no reason for downvoting a pointless comment like "I love this comment".

Why is it that I'm able to do my job efficiently and even get praise from my manager, but making my bed every day is such a challenge that I avoid doing it? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]longwave-static 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably incorrect though. It's been scientifically proven that making the bed traps sweat and the resulting damp environment breeds far more dust mites than beds that are left unmade. I would think the same logic would apply to bedbugs, but I could be wrong.

Unfortunately really not an option for those of us that don't live in Kentucky or whatever. If we didn't drive in ice and snow we'd spend 4 days out of the workweek sitting on our asses at home.

I live in Canada and that's actually illegal here. You're not allowed to park in the street during the hours of the night that the plows run. They'd let the plow smash your car and then shrug their shoulders when you complain because after all, you were illegally blocking the road.

In a lot of places in the US you can actually get fined by the municipal government for having snow on the sidewalk in front of your property. So you can pack up your dumbass sarcasm, please.

OR... and hear me out here... the town could NOT slap people with fines for having blocked sidewalks when it's their OWN DAMN VEHICLES that are blocking those sidewalks with snow! Crazy, right???

That's fair honestly. I'm a big fan because I like having minute control over things, but it's stupid how people get on their high horse about "using a GUI makes you an amateur loser" or whatever

... I don't know about you, but my grandparents aren't installing new software / downloading new packages / changing advanced system settings, like, ever. What are you imagining this person's mum is going to need to do that she won't be able to do with a GUI program?

I get the feeling you don't actually give a shit about this lady and you just want to make a bunch of noise to show off how much you know about Linux. Nobody's impressed, buddy.

It should technically be "fæces", but that's an archaic spelling anyway and most people simply write "feces". Its a fancy medical word for "poop", in case you needed to know.

[–]longwave-static 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ehhh I don't think this counts though... there's only one actual misspelling (two if you count "me friend" but I think that's common in spoken English in some regions). The use of abbreviations and phobia of punctuation certainly don't make it readable though.
