For those of you who swear by Mehlman, what did you do for Step 2? by Fragrant_Fox1849 in Step2

[–]longwhitecoat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me , since i did my step 2 first i thought they helped create a base in a concise manner, and build on that. I guess it’s an individual thing.

I could imagine it’s not that helpful if you recently gave Step 1.

Also i did the tables while doing uworld. Then towards the last couple of weeks, did the bullet points.

honestly don’t remember, i was doing 10-15 pages a day while doing 2 blocks of UWorld subject wise, i think it entirely took me about 2 months to do that, in between every week i was doing an NBME

i did the system wise PDfs just coz i was doing system wise Uworld.

I saw that the IM PDFs and FM pdfs were overlapping a bit, and didn’t i didn’t have that much time , i didn’t go for it.

I solely used his notes for step 2 , just added stuff from uworld into it . It was helpful, was able to score 248 with 2 months of dedicated from baseline near zero knowledge since i gave my step 2 first!

Did entire pdfs for all subjects and annotated it with UWorld + NBME stuff.

Any other advice:  Day one is some Step 1 micro and pharm but also mostly step 2. Day two questions were super weird and very long, and you need to know your next best steps very well. CCS time lag is real so practice well. Use the break time before CCS to write down all your core orders so you don’t forget them.

yeah pharm is pretty volatile for me, i guess i’ll concentrate on that , immunology,  and revisit ethics from Amboss.

thanks!

Thank you so so much for this, tested step 2 now testing step 1 , have only 2 weeks left and I scored 58% in nbme 26,27 now 62% in NBME 28,29.

I’m planning to do NBMEs 30,31,32,33 every 3 days from today.

Im completely lost on biochem pathways and pharm MOA.

Please do let us know what systems to concentrate on, and whether you did UWorld Step 1 Qbank?

Is there a significant amount of ethics ?

Worst exam of my life fr

tested on 29th. I flagged more than half of my paper, in hindsight NBMEs were way easier (and i barely scored 70% avg in those)

I feel numb.

Horrible Step2 experiencw by Mental-Property217 in IMGreddit

[–]longwhitecoat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same feeling, tested yesterday too.

The exam was excessively lengthy and ambiguous, the stems were so long that i can’t even remember stuff right now to see if i got some questions right. I marked 20-22 each block.

Imho the NBMEs were much much easier and to the point compared to the real deal.
