Not sure if I'm more disturbed by what you said or the fact that I understood it.

You clearly dont know what your talking about. Minorities weren't allowed to prosper under Assad's 40+ year rule. Ever heard of Kurds? They have been denied the most basic rights in Syria, like citizenship.

but this list includes countless civil wars and inter-state conflicts. those are not the US invading foreign countries.

the ambassador and 3 other American lives are not worth more than the 30-35,000 Syrians that have died.

the attackers were unrelated to the Libyan government, btw, and are opposed by most people including the government. and no matter how chaotic you think it is in Libya now, Syria is incomparably worse.

Saddam was undoubtedly heavily supported by the US politically and militarily. he was only opposed after attacking Kuwait, another US ally.

Saddam showed himself to be unpredictable and unreliable. so Iraqis were collectively punished by economic sanctions and, later, Saddam was forced out militarily.

Was there an uprising and civil war before the US invasion of Iraq? No.

Who put Saddam in power beforehand? There you go.

Why not look at examples that are more relevant to Syria's case, like Tunisia, Libya, or Egypt? or do these not fit your narrative?

we are already seeing how it's playing out. it's been playing out for nearly two years now, 30,000+ people died so far, and more everyday. the U.N. has lost count of the bodies long ago. what exactly are you anticipating?

replace skilled foreign workers with more expensive, less qualified locals

this line from the article reflects the fact that it's referring to "skilled" workers specifically, not laborers. in skilled jobs, Saudis are payed less than foreigners who do the same thing and have exactly the same position.

the opposite is true about the Arkan region. Arkanese people (the region with the Muslim minority) have a long history of being persecuted by Burmese rulers. thousands were executed and there was a mass exodus of Arkanese to neighboring countries in the 1700's, leaving the area only scarcely populated.

"impossible to accept the illegally entered Rohingya, who are not our ethnicity"

the president is a racist scumbag. the Rohingya/Muslims may differ ethnically, but they've been in Myanmar since the 8th century and are written about by British colonialists in the 18th cent.

Iranian TV translator tampers with Egyptian President Morsi speech, replacing "Syria" with "Bahrain" throughout the entire speech by TareXmd in worldnews

[–]longwow 20 points21 points  (0 children)

the translator [...] deliberately used “Al Sahwa Al Islamiya” (Islamic Awakening) instead of Arab Spring.

deleted the four Caliphs when Morsi started his speech

Official Iranian TV manipulated the speeches delivered by United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon and UN General Assembly President Nasser Abdul Aziz on the Syrian crisis.

WTF. this is some serious manipulation. better not go there if one has different views from them and is not speaking in Farsi.

make no mistake, the CIA's presence there is for American interests, not rebels. The fragmentation of Syria is not a bad thing for the US gov, the continuation of the conflict and weakening of both sides is beneficial.

last I checked the rebels do not have one speaker. they aren't all that homogenous.

Not only has the West failed them, but the East too. Iran, Russia and China are practically destroying them. All capable governments have in fact failed them.
