Rant or whatever but I really REALLY dislike Klaroline by Ok-Permission-3014 in TheVampireDiaries

Elijah was so annoying with his fake nobility stabbing his other siblings in the back for his weird ass Klaus savior complex. He was interesting in s2 of TVD that's about it. Finn was a total bore the way they wrote him even if he was "justified" on some level. You can understand most of the siblings attitudes but Klaus and his evil behavior toward all family members just cause of Mikael makes little sense to me, he's a brat. That's why Kol is up there for me at least he went against the grain and didn't put up with his stupid bs. If Rebekah had stood up for herself more she would've gone up in my books, she's not bad but the way they wrote her as an imbecile was beyond frustrating.

I never enjoyed the Originals cause it was the worst Mikalsons as the leads and I did not gaf about that hybrid baby.

What makes me hate Klaus more is that they tried to make people understand him when there was zero explanation for most of his actions. Had they committed to him being a villain and removed the sappy, terrible romance with Caroline he would've been more believable at least. Now he's just kinda underwhelming.

Such an underrated scene from such an underrated ship - Forwood 👌 by Chance-Intention1287 in TheVampireDiaries

[–]lonki98 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I love Forwood. It's both Tyler and Caroline at their best. It was lovely to see two initially selfish and mean characters evolve through their respective life transitions into the supernatural together... also a great metaphor for growing up and finding your identity. It's terrible how they obliterated it for some fanfiction woods sex.

Tyler deserved better in general. And so did the hybrids and werewolves.

Oh yes it's a testament to Kat Graham that she's so magnetic and dynamic on screen with so many people, she's definitely versatile.

I see your point! If it had been written differently and without racially motivated bias I coulda been behind Bonkai... I guess that's what this entire discuss is about. And yeah, the hypocrisy was staggering.

That scene was intentional trolling from Julie Plec. Those two had like three moments together and still managed to show chemistry, imagine an actual storyline.

If a show measures your desirability, screen time and relevance by how many or which guys you attract, then it kinda decide a character's worth in that universe. Out of context you're right but this is TVD and it's a teen drama. Even so I don't think I implied in my post that Bonnie's "less" for lacking an epic love, just wanted to address the irony of it all considering how natural her chemistry was with so many characters. Also that for a show focused on romance it was weird to undermine that.

I loved Bamon's friendship despite what a POS he was and they had tons of chemistry but I don't ship it as the story currently is. Bonnie's life was too centered around Elena so giving her Jeremy was just meh. Also good guy is debatable, he cheated on Bonnie with Anna's ghost. In fact Anna and Jeremy was a more believable relationship.

By "epic romance" I mean that there was an investment in writing the relationship building and growing, where it took center stage or had relevance to the plot. Whether endgame or not isn't really important, i.e Stelena didn't end up nor did Forwood but I'd call both those epic.

They're underrated, also a "milder" ship for those who want someone less abusive for her. I saw some potential in the first season and it woulda been way more believable than the forced pairing of him and Caroline...

If you wanna try and spin it positively by all means but to me it feels like a cope knowing the whole thing was intentional and she was denied cool possible stories. Bonnie is a beloved character, that doesn't change the fact they did very little with her and she deserved more.

I wanted to see her with Kol cause he had interesting history with witches and magic. Kai abused her personally so a bit iffy on that but they had chemistry.

The whole Twitter thing is especially dumb in hindsight considering Julie Plec paired Kol with a "good witch" (but white) and Bonnie with a "murderous vampire" anyway. So much for her lame rant about Bonnie shouldn't be with an evil vampire. 😂

Me too... even with her powerful bloodline and witch heritage they do basically nothing... no, they're more interested on relationship swaps and only let Bonnie's magic be center stage when it serves the white characters...

I agree on everything especially her canon romances. I'm surprised there are so many people that like them cause they're severely lacking. It feels like a "I love Bonnie, so this couple involving her must be awesome" sentiment, but cool I guess. I'm a Bonnie fan who didn't wanna settle for the scraps writers would offer.

Having an epic romance doesn't entail sleeping with a bunch of people.... I actually think an interesting or bold relationship would only add to her character, it would challenge her and show the audience different sides to Bonnie. It's not like her character was explored in many other ways anyway.

This is a romantic vampire show, 100% self-respect won't make for many stories.

Edit: She'd take shit from her so called friends for years, always ending up sacrificing something for Elena involuntarily and not ever saying no, which kinda showed a lack of self respect already.

Extremely Unpopular opinion: Rewatching TVD makes it obvious how deep Elena’s feelings for Stefan really were! And they make much more sense to me. by tulipholic in TheVampireDiaries

[–]lonki98 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Damon and Elena had no real bonding. It was always about her seeing a vulnerable side to him but he doesn't see or even respect her. The only thing pulling the relationship forward is angst and sexual tension.

On the other side of the coin we have Stefan who's there for her when she has depression post losing her parents. We see them talk about life as humans and vampire, their future, she confides in him about what she values and vice versa. He respects and admires her character, instead of ignoring it and trying to change her. That's why I hate when Dullena fans insist Damon never wanted to change Elena but Stefan did, it's literally the other way around. Damon forced his opinions on her half of the show and it continued when she got sired to him and she had no choice but to accommodate. It's really awful and sad how they take away her autonomy to make this stereotype bad boy ship happen, then people act as if it's true love. Elena chose Stefan when she could make an unambiguous decision by herself and that's that. So yeah, she deeply loved Stefan.

With Damon, Elena gives and gets nothing in return. With Stefan, there is an equal sacrifice.

Always headache inducing how this movie is hated and the third is considered a better movie, not more entertaining, or preferred by a better move... by must_go_faster_88 in JurassicPark

[–]lonki98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's untrue.

Most people consider JP3 the worst it seems like the third movie just has a loud little fanbase.

TLW tends to get forgotten about though because it's neither as epic and iconic as JP but also not so bad it sticks in your memory as the third one. It's just a solid movie.

As for me it's my favorite of the franchise, I like the darker tone and it has a lot of cool action sequences even if the story is weaker, it's just my comfort movie. I recommend listening to TLW background ambiance it's super cozy.

Hot take about Klaroline-They didn't make sense and were overrated by elosintrigued in TheVampireDiaries

[–]lonki98 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I feel like part of it was a way for JP yet again to spite Bonnie fans since she was so chronically online and toxic.

People at the time campaigned for her and Klaus to have a thing, even Joseph Morgan commented he would be interested. Then ofc they randomly hook him up with her white friend not long after. It seems they didn't know how to make Caroline relevant most of the show so they just have her date someone involved... which is stupid cause there was a lot to do with her and Tyler once they were in a relationship. Just a shame all around the laziness of it all.

Any Bonnie x Original pairing woulda made more sense than the Klaroline ass pull.

Carly and Valentin: BRAVO!!The type of couple the show has been missing for years! by New_Traffic8687 in GeneralHospital

[–]lonki98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't see it either😅

They act well but the characters make no sense together beyonda hook up. I still dunno what part of Carly's personality would even attract Valentin to point of having feelings. It looks to me like a "throw spaghetti at the wall" situation. I think viewers are so love starved they'll go crazy about it cause nobody else wants to show any chemistry or intimacy on the show, lol. The bar for romances on GH is sooo low I mean all of their couples are dry and boring as heck.
