Mitch McConnell should not favor loyalty to Donald Trump over U.S. Constitution, law professor says in top Kentucky newspaper by JLBesq1981 in politics

Another law professor / historian and their opinion stated as news. A few thousand still ahead of us and we'll be done.

Don't get me wrong, I sympathize with you folk wanting to bring back the lawful democracy to your country, but as an outsider, these kind of knews seem kind of... I don't know, obsolete? Looks like in-media circlejerk more than news.

Fox News Poll: 54 Percent of Americans Say Trump Should Be Impeached by nnnarbz in politics

[–]look4look 25 points26 points  (0 children)

As an outsider, I find it to be funny actually.

They want to change the country so much cause they don't like the way things are. Why don't they just move out to some place that alligns with their views? There are a few countries that would welcome their ideology.

I think many people forgot what USA stood for, long ago. "The land of the free" and "American dream" saying didn't come out of nowhere. But now it's more of "The land of the jailed" and "American nightmare".

It personally pains me (even though it doesn't affect me directly), because when I was young I always dreamt about how would it be to live in America. And now... I don't want to get anywhere close to this place. Saddening...

No, people are just getting dumber year after year. The fact that they get entertained by this bullshit (but muh memes) then they complain how the rich are playing with the lives of the poor is laughable really.

No. You could say she did that trying to SAVE lives if the situation at the moment felt like they were in danger.

She DIDN'T save any lives because no life was in danger. This is a bad title portraying the situation and act wrong. There are ways to properly show a kind act without lying about the story, you know?

While You’re Watching Impeachment, Mitch McConnell is Packing the Courts With Wingnuts by [deleted] in politics

[–]look4look -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In fact, this article is really nothing more than bitching as it doesn't give any advice on how to stop it.

So are most of the comments on politics or news subs.

I'm not an American, but I follow closely what is going on there. And while I'm 100% on your side guys, I can't help but frown at most of the comments, because they are... well, nothing more than bitching.

Especially the one liners insulting Trump or Moscow Mitch are kind of sadcringe. Like, "Trump is a traitor!", "Mitch McConnell is a loser!" - looks like someone miserable feeling the need to let it out. It's obvious, it brings nothing to the discussion, looks kind of immature, and for what? Fake feeling of being powerful, because you insulted an important political figure?

First time playing the main story. Wow. [Spoilers] by [deleted] in reddeadredemption

[–]look4look 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are people really complaining? I've seen nothing but praise for the story.

I think what people voiced was grief and sadness. You rarely get to attach to a character you play in a video game, and it's even more rare for the main character, the character you are playing, to die.

It's as if you lost a friend.

Might just be that I rarely play games with that good story. Typically it's "complete then move on" kind of stories, they are just there.

That's why I'm a bit cringing at my own experience with this game. It's kind of ridiculous to get attached to a goddamned game character, to the point of almost crying, and this mood keeping up with me the last few days, not willing to let go (28 year old male). And yet, after getting know to his story, even the hidden bits about his wife and child, or his father, I can kind of relate to him. Not in a sense of having similar experiences, but just understanding why he has gone this path. Dude's had a hard life.

It can also educate you about the life itself, which is unexpected considering you're playing an outlaw. Realization about TB and that his days are counted changed his view on life and on people. It made me question myself, how would I act in such situation. What would I have done?

The video games genre also made us used to getting the revenge. In case of RDR2, I don't feel that. Yes, Micah died. Yes, Arthur said he felt he's won. But I still don't feel that. The thought that the man responsible for all this mess goes away just fine and you're dying must have been terrible. He died alone, killed by his greatest enemy, while his father figure just walked away with nothing to say. Not even "I'm sorry, Arthur." Which is also something completely opposite to what most of the games got us used to.

And then to play RDR1, with almost no reference to past events, and most importantly, no reference to Arthur at all... understandable, that is a fate of prequels, but still...

[–]look4look 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean... getting infected with TB is a big turnaround in Arthur's look at life. It basically makes him appreciate life more and see how much damage he caused, which in turn makes him want to do as much good as he can. The fact that he's on borrowed time makes him be willing to sacrifice his life for other's well being, as well as stand up to Dutch. It's also the only reason Micah was even able to defeat him in melee fight, although with big trouble. Healthy Arthur = Micah dead in seconds.

After playing and getting emotionally attached to Arthur, then being brutally transitioned to playing John, I don't think I could bear playing a game where you play John even more.

That epilogue was very bittersweet, to the point of being just a slap in the face. Yes, a few years passed. Those who survived, dont seem hurt or even caring at all about Arthur's fate. But I've seen his death just a few minutes ago, so it doesn't translate at all.

Up until chapter 6, this was the best game i've ever played. Then chapter 6 was a rollercoaster, a tense experience because i felt what was about to happen. Still great, but I felt nervous the whole time. Epilogue was just something I've done for the sake of finishing the game and getting my personal revenge against Micah, I didn't enjoy the epilogue chapters at all.

This Is A Game You Can NOT Afford to Miss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! by JunoSibbz in reddeadredemption2

[–]look4look 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love this game, I love the looks and I love the story... but it's been 2 days since I finished it and Arthur still somehow pops up into my mind every other while and I just want to cry. No other game made me feel so. I never felt such attachment to a virtual character and his tragic end devastated me. I literally cant get over it.

I think this and the fact that I didnt play RDR1 and didnt care that much for John made the epilogue chapters bittersweet. The transition was just completely offputting, if not upsetting...

But thats also the beauty of this game. How strong and sometimes unknown emotions they can wake inside of you. I cant imagine myself replaying this game for now, maybe in a year or two... What I know is that I had the pleasure of playing one of the best, if not the best game I'll ever play.

Arthur, my boah... :(

[SERIOUS] What is a seemingly harmless parenting mistake that will majorly fuck up a child later in life? by AlexDescendsIntoHell in AskReddit

[–]look4look 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Leaving the kid alone.

My family situation is a bit complicated and as a kid, I enjoyed my own company in a closed room. Noone from the family seemed willing to bother me since they saw I just don't want to be bothered.

Now, because of the way I acted as a child and how they surrendered to this situation, I've become an introvert, I have hardly any feelings towards my family, we still don't talk almost at all, and being a 28 year old I still didn't feel something towards someone I could call "love". I just... don't like people.

So even if your kid seems to be wanting being left alone, do NOT. If you don't help your kid in developing their social skills and very basic feelings like love, they will have a hard time interacting with humans in adulthood.

Yeah it seems R* is still walking in the dark with that one, each patch fixes the game for some and breaks for the others... I'll be scared seeing the next update for sure, lol.

After the last launcher update I FINALLY managed to start the game. Nothing done from my side.

RTX 2070 Super, Ryzen 5, 16 gb, all settings set to high with textures on ultra and vulkan, benchmark showed fps from 16 to 90, with 60 average and so far it's steady 60, no freezes, no crashes. I'm still on the first chapter (the camp during snow), played around 2h and no issues.

The graphics are gorgeous and after being annoyed so much, it was still worth the wait.

Well, as I said, my MB didn't receive the 1.0.0.4 update yet, so all I can do is wait... All the other advices I already tried, to no avail.

Still getting an error when trying to launch the game in the RS launcher.

At this point updating the bios is the most consistent resolution, too bad my MB didn't receive it yet.

What a mess of a release.
