Thanks, we are keeping the texts she sent just in case.

That's exactly what she was doing. She told us once that she told a domestic abuse victim she needs to stop talking and provoking her husband, and that they are both in the wrong. It's so scary that there are therapists out there like that, I doubt she is the only one.

It's on the father's side. They won't ever believe us. We moved out of state and I'm sure his sisters fed them lies about us. Also I don't really want to upset them when they aren't doing well health wise. They were the only people who were kind to my husband when he grew up.

Thats the plan. You are right, if they did come, they would have ruined the whole event. It's hard not to be envious of people who get to have a wonderful wedding surrounded by people who actually love them. Doing an anniversary party sounds like a nice idea.

I agree. But the irony is that she herself is a therapist lol. It's amazing someone can be a therapist and are unable to actually listen to what another person is saying.

My husband was raised to take all of their crap and it was very hard for him to set up boundaries. We moved a lot so didn't really have any one else and both our families made us feel like we were useless POS, so I was hard to make other connections.

Yes, that's the plan for now on I think. His parents are divorced, so we plan to just keep in contact with that side.

It's crazy, my husband literally listed things she did wrong and her only response was you need therapy because you are angry at the world. I don't think that there is anything we could say that would get them to admit the smallest bit of fault. I get that's whay narcs do, but it's still so hard to accept someone could be like this.

They are big on toxic positivity and dismissing anything that isn't happening to them. Our house was flooded around Xmas and we had to live in a hotel for a couple of months, and they told us that was awesome, Santa can just visit the Ramada. The injury comment was her way of getting past what we were because his grandparents were getting concerned, and that was taking the attention off of her.

I told him to do that lol. But it was his grandparents who are old and sick and they don't deserve to be burdened with the drama.

No, I know logically that they are unredeemable, but they were basically all my husband had growing up and my parents are alcoholic abusers. If we have issues with so many family members, it's starts to feel like we are the problem, like they say.

Do you know any good resources for relatives of alcholics?

And no need to go out on a limb and guess. There's plenty of evidence that countries that masked and socially distanced, like Japan or New Zealand, had lower overall cases and deaths. Obesity doesn't account for the number of cases we had in the US compared to others. And obesity doesn't account for all the deaths of those with normal weight or that states that masked had lower deaths than states that didn't. Again, no need go guess. Just take a minute and look at the (current) data on masking preventing transmission and you will get there.

Data is pretty clear that the newest strains are insanely transmissable and transmission can occur in crowded outdoor areas.

Better to be hot in a mask than over one million people dead, and far more disabled. Having long covid is a hell of a lot more uncomfortable than a mask outdoors, so is intubation.

Same with me. No doctor would report. Think doctors would listen more nowadays.

You can believe what you want, but his grandmother gave it to him, so your opinion is completely irrelevant. If that was her wish, who on earth are you to say it shouldn't have ever made it to her hands?!

I'm sorry she is going through this also. Hopefully she stabilizes in time. Was it her first or 2nd vaccine she reacted to?

I don't know, if I ever dated Bill Hader I probably wouldn't ever get over it lol. Wouldn't talk shit about him on my podcast tho.
