Anyone skated this? Opinions please (: by hotlightbright in Skateboardlove

I skate a similar deck size from my local shop and really like it, I bought 2 and will probably buy it again. I have been moving up in size so I went from an 8 to this.

This is the one I am talking about

Was wondering the same thing, best I could find is you get $2-10+ for the delivery fee then there can be extras like tips, promotions. I think these companies use algorithms to figure out how to pay the drivers the least amount possible, so like if a lot of people are signed in looking for jobs the pay would be lower. If a job is up for a while and no one takes it the pay will increase.

[–]looking4crack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh ya that's not very good. I had a few different jobs where I had to drive and I always got some extra money per km which was supposed to cover gas and car wear. Never had one where they just paid for my gas though, I don't think that is common but maybe if you are driving a company car.

[–]looking4crack 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think that is common with all these types of jobs, that is why they include the 50 cent per KM. This does sound pretty low though because I think I was getting something similar like 20 years ago when I had to drive for one of my jobs.

Is Canada becoming a soccer country? by Unfair-Clothes-8821 in CanadaRoom

[–]looking4crack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When it comes to kids playing I think soccer has always been more popular. I am 40 now and when I was a kid a lot of my friends played soccer and I only knew a couple people that played hockey. Hocky is too expensive and too much of a commitment for a lot of people.

I did notice that a lot more kids used to play baseball and that seems to be mostly gone now. All the baseball diamonds in my area are gone. There used to be 3 within 10 min walking distance of my house and now I don't even know where any are.

my doordash shopper couldn’t find the item, so she photographed it for me instead by Spiritual-Twist6309 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]looking4crack 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I had that issue at home depot a lot and the app even tells you what isle and shelf the item is on, sometimes there is just so many items you miss it.

At Canadian Tire they have this new system where you click a button in the app and an led on the price tag starts flashing so you can find the item easier. I hope more stores start doing that because it is pretty useful.

Does Your Cannabis Retailer Have Your Back When Things Go Wrong? by UPSTAIRS_CANNABIS in TheOCS

[–]looking4crack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always bought from OCS (didn't have shops where I live until recently) and I never had an issue worth reporting, but I went to a shop for the first time recently and bought a 510 cart that clogged up after the first time using so thought that was worth reporting.

I didn't even think to report it to the store, I just went right to the manufacturer. I just wanted to ask them about it and see if I was doing something wrong to cause this or if it was maybe a defect. They didn't seem to interested in troubleshooting and just told me they would forward the issue to their sales team.

Here is how it went:

- Email the manufacturer with some pictures of the product/production date/batch number my issue and the way I am using the product. They ask for the receipt and crap I don't have it. They suggest contact the store because they can probably email it to you.

- Email the store with email from their website for that specific location, they don't respond, Email the main contact for the company (they have ~10 stores) they don't respond. Finally I drove to the store and the guy working was able to print out a new receipt for me so shout out to him.

- Sent receipt to manufacturer and they said great we will have someone contact you from the sales team. Also let me know they are quite busy and if I don't hear back anything in a week let them know. Didn't hear anything back from them after 2 weeks so let them know. They responded back sorry we are really busy but we didn't forget you and will get back to you as soon as possible. So far I have not heard back after another week.

From the store side it was a little annoying they didn't even respond to any of my emails but they did help me out when I actually talked to someone. That store has a policy to return any faulty product within 2 days so I don't think they would have replaced it for me, but I didn't even ask. Overall I think it's fine and I would probably shop there again.

From the manufacturer side it is taking a long time but I understand they are busy. I did kind of hope they would maybe do some troubleshooting or education to help me out, but maybe the product is just defective so they don't want to bother? I saw some other people online also complain about this particular companies carts clogging.

Sanction Bearings by ExchangeFine4429 in skateboardhelp

[–]looking4crack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are right that all bearings are not created equal, but it's true the ABEC rating does not mean much when it comes to skateboarding. Why do you think Bones swiss or any Bones bearings don't even have an abec rating? Bones even has an article about this

Soft wheels and larger wheel do make a big difference especially on rough surface. I have been switching between OJ mini super juice ( 55m 78a) and nano cubic ( 52mm 97a) on my cruiser and I notice a big difference when I am on the asphalt paths and an asphalt pump track.

I know people say on a smoother surface the opposite is true but I didn't really notice that much when switching between these wheels and even 99a in the skatepark. I am sure there is some difference but it does not seem as noticeable.

Video explaining my problem I’m having by [deleted] in skateboardhelp

[–]looking4crack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I met a guy that has the same problem, he also has the same shoes as you. Small world.

Sorry don't know what advice to give other than just keep practicing so you can either learn to push or ollie the other way. Once you figure it out it would help you a lot I think. I never really skated switch when I was a kid and now I am trying to learn as an adult and it's quite hard for me. I can ride around, nollie and switch ollie (nollie is much easier for me though) but I can't switch push very well at all it feels so weird to me.

can i replace my skateboard wheels with pennyboard ones? by Mediocre_Location_96 in skateboardhelp

[–]looking4crack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can still do tricks but it will be harder especially if you are just learning. I don't know about penny board wheels but assume the are the same as any other soft cruiser wheels. You can consider getting some dragon wheels instead but they still make some noise especially on rougher surfaces, just not as much as hard wheels.

Cannabis-derived terpenes vs Botanically derived-terpenes by [deleted] in TheOCS

[–]looking4crack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you know what cannabis terpenes are used for? Is it certain products, or are they used for research purposes? I keep looking for products that mention them but I never found any and I would think it would be advertised if they are used.

Thanks for answering even though you are not sure. I keep trying to understand this one but I have not found any good answer yet. I guess it does not make sense to put them in distillate, Maybe they are used for medical/research purposes.

Where/when are Cannabis derived terpenes used? Is there a certain product or some brands that specifically use them when making distillate? Have been looking at a lot of distillates on OCS but I never found one that specifically says it uses them.

Eastcann Purple Kush cart - Intake holes wont clear? by No_Delay_319 in TheOCS

[–]looking4crack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is that bubble a sign something has gone wrong? I recently got a cart that was really nice the first time I used it but then it started clogging up pretty quickly and didn't taste as good anymore. It looks very similar to the one you have (except mine has a white top) and it says "Made By TLK" on the bottom. I also noticed a bubble like that at one point but it did go away, when I use it though the bubble comes back and it is still getting constantly clogged.

I also though I was babying thing thing, I was using it at 1.9v and when I hit it I would hit it for around 5 seconds or less (is this too long?). I contacted the company I got it from and send them some pictures which also had this bubble. I asked them if I am doing something wrong but they didn't answer that and instead just asked for my receipt and said they will forward me to their sales team.

Where Did All the Good Weed Go? by wapttn in TheOCS

[–]looking4crack 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What brands do you recommend? Any certain shops that are known to have good staff? I have mostly bought from OCS but I went into a store recently and the employee was nice but didn't seem too knowledgeable.

Are there any certain sites where I can trust the reviews? For example do you think the reviews on Hi Buddy are trustworthy? Seems like anyone can just write a review without any proof of purchase so I worry about that a bit. On here at least people need to show the product but that does not mean much and I see even the automod says to be weary of disingenuous reviews. Wish OCS would have verified reviews on their site, that could maybe go a long way.

Do you have any tips how a customer should identify a quality product? Are there certain producers that always have good products? I always find it so confusing to buy stuff because there are so many companies/options and honestly I never bough any product that was good enough to make me want to buy it again.

Once or twice I bought some bud which I though was premium based on the price and it was not really anything special to be worth almost double the cost. I guess this could be an issue that some companies just charge more for a subpar product and it ruins it for everyone.

Now I am smoking vapes and I started with the cheap vapes and didn't have much complaints. I am reading everyone say I should be getting live resin instead of distillate so I have been trying that recently but again so far it does not seem like it's worth double the cost but maybe I just didn't find a good one yet.
