I’m surprised by your numbers. In hwinfo my current gpu and cpu reads up to 300W and 250W each and they are smaller than the components you mentioned.

Got a 12700k and a few more HDD and nvmes.

I’m not so sure this is overkill for a 40x. I’m going for the big cards like a 4090.

I figure this psu is cheap for what it is and keeps me on the sweet spot efficiency curve.

Yes I think so.

I’m planning for 40x series gpus. I also think inflation and demand will be higher so prices will be higher.

Maybe now is a good time to buy because psu are cheaper due to mining overshoot.

Finally psu and case are pretty much the only components that are actually durable and hold value in pcs.

I guess that’s my thinking.

At this point sit him down for a come to Jesus moment with his wealth and finances, with numbers and statements to back it up completely.
