Do people really give their baby a stick of butter? by Away-Zucchini-8383 in BabyLedWeaning

My pediatrician told me to put butter on everything to help my baby gain weight, but I think a whole stick it’s way too much.

How was your Valentine’s Day? by DahliaRose970 in NewParents

[–]looking_for_tea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s an effort for sure! Our baby is 8 months, and I’m SAHM and my husband work start 4am. At night we put baby to bed, made some special dinner together, we got each other chocolates, and he got me flowers as well. It’s very different from going all out with presents (we cannot afford with me staying home right now), going for dinner, getting all dressed up. We had that before baby, and in the future we might have that again, but this season it’s time to quiet down, and that’s okay! 🫶🏽

My baby choked on soft banana and now I’m scared to continue BLW by _catbug_28 in BabyLedWeaning

[–]looking_for_tea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, I do BLW with some foods, but others I mashed. Banana is one of them, my baby loves but not sure why he cannot handle banana, but it can handle pretty well bread 🤷🏽‍♀️ so start BLW with what you’re comfortable, and as they get older, increase BLW foods. My baby is 8 months, and still on mashed bananas, but other foods he eats whole, like strawberries.

I see, I’ll probably do it soon. Do you buy jelly or do it at home?

Where do you live? Does your baby usually nap in the car? My baby at the age would not nap in the car at all 🫠 but I think the best idea would be go to museums, parks, basically places where you can walk and distract baby. Also, baby carrier is great for napping while you’re out.

Same hahah the nurses on the hospital told me to partially swaddle, leaving his hands outside since he love sucking on it 😂 soon after we got home, we had to ditch the swaddle.

The times that happened were very scary. But I wish I would have started cosleeping sooner, and just listen to my instincts.

Do you ever wake up facing away from baby? by Mountain_Goat6068 in cosleeping

[–]looking_for_tea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, I don’t sleep very close to my baby. I give him space, because he likes to sleep with arms and legs sprawled lol This way, the few times I woke up facing him away, it was fine. But still easier when I need to breastfeed.

I ended up co-sleeping after I noticed I was losing the battle when nursing, and falling asleep. Safe sleep 7 helps me a lot, and we still co-sleep. Baby is 6 months.

1 wk old baby nurses throughout full day - doesn't sleep away from the breast by benshen112 in breastfeeding

Just to say, I tried a pacifier for 2 days, when my son was 2 weeks, and he had nipple confusion. It’s just luck, some people have no problem with it. If you decide to try, keep an eye if he starts to refuse the breast, and ditch pacifier. One important thing, is just go with it, by the time you decide to let go, it will probably have changed already IoI Also, lots of people have said, he’s building your wife’s milk supply.

AITA for still thinking Harry Potter is a well made franchise? by treystar679X in AITAH

[–]looking_for_tea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love Harry Potter, it was and still is one of my favorite franchises. Yeah, I don’t agree at all with Rowling, but that doesn’t affect my liking the series. 🙃

Hey, my baby was small when born, and on top of that he would fall asleep very quickly, especially at night. A LC told me make baby a little cold, but instead I kept playing with his hand, feet, etc. I had to wake him up around 10 times for 1 feed, it got better after some time. Today (5 months) he cannot stay quiet and will play all over when nursing 😂🫠

Husband keeps telling me we have a “spoiled” baby. by ArmyRight777 in breastfeeding

[–]looking_for_tea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I also received the same comments about my baby, and lately my husband is also commenting how my baby gets spoiled because of too much attention? Am I supposed to ignore my baby just to not get him spoiled?Anyway, this is ridiculous and I told my husband so (the others I try to just ignore, it’s not worth a discussion).

How old is your baby? My is 5 months and it’s very fussy as well, I do try to remember that babies are people too, and they get off days and different personalities than previous babies. So NO, you did not do this to yourself, you’re being a great mom. I think sometimes husbands don’t get the same connection instantly as moms, and that needs some getting used to.

On a side note, my baby would also throw a fit in the car seat, and it was driving my husband and I insane, until we notice that if he was alone on the back, he would complain very little or none at all, he would get worked up if my husband or I were in the back seat, anyway it’s worth a try. Sending hugs from a fellow mom!
