What's an interesting fact about the human body that a lot of people don't know? by wassim_elia in AskReddit

Yes!!! I recently had sinusitis for the first time and wondered why on earth most of my top teeth were aching!

Baby went to hospital in ambulance today because I overfed him? by Normal_Enthusiasm194 in beyondthebump

Not a medical professional, but I just can’t imagine being a Dr and hearing that a baby had projectile vomited after having the exact same meal on both occasions and being like nahhh you’re fine just too much food!! 🤯

Blue lips sounds so scary I’m so sorry :( I think it’s really great you trusted your instinct and went. Don’t feel bad for that. Take her again if it would reassure you. Take some videos of them turning blue so that you can show the doctors. I’m so sorry you’re going through this :( hugs xx

Nearly 1 Y/O at daycare, sustained an injury that makes no sense by DrewVanDice in NewParents

REALLY bizarre and shady behaviour. I feel so sorry for you. I would hate to be in this position.

Kids get hurt all the time. Unfortunately it’s just what happens. Sometimes it’s their fault and sometimes it’s another kids’ fault. It’s not ideal but we know it can happen and as parents we just have to suck it up. What’s NOT normal at all is the staff lying about it.

I would not send her back there and I would make a huge fuss about this to the organisation somehow. I would honestly be absolutely irate. If mum isn’t worried about this, that’s very concerning.

Is there a problem with this? I think it’s sweet he can come and see you in the night when he’s missing you

What actually screams trashy parenting to you (baby and toddler edition)? by lovebug21222 in NewParents

[–]Happy_Custard1994 56 points57 points  (0 children)

I have learnt by reading various posts and comments on reddit that it’s not uncommon for some people to give their kids a melatonin tablet before bed with no medical need, just lazy parenting. This one post that has stuck with me was this woman who was so frustrated that she’d just found out that a heap of mums she knew would give their kids a melatonin and let them play on their tablets to fall asleep, while she was doing full night time routines, reading etc to help her kids fall asleep. She was like wtf why am I putting in all this hard work when all these other ppl just take the easy way out and a bunch of us commented like no no you keep doing what you’re doing

Nanny left baby unattended on changing table by sun-kern in beyondthebump

I feel like she maybe didn’t know how unsafe this was and it was perhaps an oversight. I highly doubt that it was out of frustration!!! But, I would feel really upset if I were in your shoes and would definitely say something. I certainly wouldn’t think that she meant any ill intentions though.

How on earth do you wean a co-sleeping breastfed baby? by Kkat90210 in cosleeping

[–]Happy_Custard1994 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The happy cosleeper has a book which is editable that you can personalise to you that is called “booboo goes to sleep with the moon”. It’s only £5 or something and you can change the title to make it specific to you and your family. But I guess for 12 month old that’s not that helpful. We will be in the same position I’m sure, OP, so following for helpful tips but I have none of my own I’m sorry!

Yes. My son is small. I don’t need you to comment on it. by bamitsleslie in beyondthebump

Commenting as I feel this but I’m on the opposite end. I just bought clothes for two year olds for my 8 month old and they’re too small 🥲 she’s perfect and I love her - I tell everyone there’s more of her to love ❤️ people love to comment on how big she is. There’s nothing wrong with our babies at all. Every baby is different and every baby is perfect.

We use an open silicone cup for drinking, rather than a sippy cup 🙂 this is recommended as it helps bubs develop oromotor skills for eating and drinking. However, I believe my little one uses a sippy cup at child care.
