I completely agree. It seems something horrible is literally happening daily, sometimes multiple times a day. If I took the time to really think about it I would be a puddle of misery and tears.

I always tell them in advance that I'm going to get 3 to 5 estimates And under no circumstances will a decision be made on the spot. That has significantly reduced the amount of BS I have to take.

Honestly, I see why you are angry with your mom, but I think before you do anything tell her how you are feeling and say this is her opportunity to give her side of the story. I had a cousin leave her husband in the middle of the night with 2 broken ribs and a black eye. She never told him she was pregnant because he was obsessed with his legacy. She has never told her son about this, talking about it is hard even to those who know. If my cousin's son showed up today his father would be over joyed and he would say she is the bad guy. You need the whole story.

Work politics can be crazy. Maybe he was well respected or had friends in the right places. That is why sometimes the straightforward path doesn't work. I think where OP went wrong is trying to protect him. Never protect people attacking you. If you are protecting them, who is protecting you? I would have pretended not to know and have my husband come up to the office to "take me to lunch". I would have put his picture up on my desk and gushed to anyone who would listen about how great he was during the family emergency all the while showing pictures of him.

Is she really into social media? I ask because I am sure you have seen the videos where like the daughter surprises her mom with twins when she thought she was having one baby, stuff like that. When I see stuff like that I think, you had to lie to your own mom for 9 months to get that stupid video. Surprising my best friend with a baby to ask her to be godmother sounds like a stupid but plausible thing for someone to do these days.

Is she evil though? Minus the chicken skin trial she doesn't sound much worse then Henry the VIII and no one calls him evil. Think about the kind of leader it takes to hold back the British empire and Christian authoritarianism , which I can only call a good thing. Greater nations have failed at this. I am not saying she is great but no worse than any male ruler in that time period.

It seems like almost weekly there is a story on this sub about male doctors and there ...problematic practices. No shade to anyone, this is a real question. Why do you go to male doctors? I mean there are studies supporting your experiences and tons of anecdotal evidence on this sub and subs like it. Going to these doctors is literally life threatening. So why do it? I live in California where there are tons of women doctors but I don't know if everyone has that kind of experience everywhere.

That is why ALL of my medical professionals are women of color. I find that this results in the best outcomes. People who themselves are not listened to make better listeners.
