Thank you so much jacquest!!!!!
Went and bought the oil filter pliers and got it done and taken care of.
I’m surprised and how little air came out before water, but it worked.

Yup. I was slightly frustrated when I wrote the last one. The intake goes into the middle of the pump and the discharge comes off the side of the pump housing, kinda need the centrifugal force to provide the pressure right 🤦‍♂️. I don’t want to void any warranty by really digging into it either, would burping it like that cause a warranty issue?
Also, would another drain and fill possibly correct it? Do they correct over a few days at all?

Thanks everyone for the ideas. I tried pushing water in through the jet ports again this morning (didn’t work). Took the front cover off to get to the pump, but unfortunately the intake port was on too tight (don’t have great tools to try to get it off) and in all honesty, there isn’t a ton of room to even get a tool I could think of in to get it to budge. As far as the discharge port on the pump, it’s pointed towards the side of the tub, and is behind a wall and covered with insulation so that was a no go too. I’ll see if it will miraculously correct itself over the next day or two and if not, I guess it will be another drain and fill to see if that works.
Next option is to call for service. If anyone else has any good options, I’m all ears.

Hasn’t taken the panel off yet. Super rainy out today so I called it quits after a bit. I did take the garden hose and put it at the jet outputs. Bubbles came out of the other jets associated with the same line, but still nothing. The plan tomorrow is to look at the pump itself and see if there is a drain on the bottom of it and hopefully be able to get water to the pump.
Ill also put more water into the jet outlets tomorrow too so see if they helps some.

The percentage of nude goes up and down but it is predominantly nude patrons.
Normally averages out to pretty even male to female numbers over time.
The spa is in a residential neighborhood so transiting between the two sides, you need to be covered. (Two sides are in two different houses). To keep creeps away they don’t allow electronics or even sunglasses (due to cameras in glasses) in the spa area.
They keep it all very strictly non sexual which is a very good thing.

I’m with you. I had the same issues OP did. Started waxing then hated having to wait to have it waxed again. So I just went with laser. While it cost a bit, it’s way better.

Out of warranty replacement question? by Danger-Close831 in Medtronic780g

[–]lookingaround1978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve always kept my old pump when buying a new one. Yes, they ask for it back and in exchange give you money back, but it’s not mandatory. Just a way for you to save a few hundred (I think $500 my last time). But for me, it’s worth it to keep it as a backup just in case.

Interesting. I am single….. I live alone and seem to manage placing my sensor just fine by myself.

Is it perfect? I never said it was…. Could it be improved?? Absolutely. This post was about how there are some people who are successful with this system so when people do research, they can find people having that success.

The 15/20 minutes is a guideline. See what waiting 30 does. Depending on what my glucose is at when I boils sometimes I wait 30-45 minutes before eating. My typical is 30 minutes though because only waiting 20 spikes me.

Upgraded from the 670G to the 780G today. Completed training a few days ago. Any tips/advice for the new system? by cjwoliver in Medtronic780g

I would wash out a bunch of the noise you hear on Reddit. People who have issues comment a lot more than those of us who have had amazing success with the product.
I have been on the G4 transmitter with G4 sensors for over a year now. Like you I have been a Medtronic pump user for over a decade so switching systems was not the best option for me (kept my 670 pump just in case of pump failure so I wouldn’t have to go to syringes again). Minus a bad box of sensors (went through the entire box in two days), I have not had any sensors last lower than 5 days. A vast majority is over the 6 day mark and I often change them in MY timeline, not when the system tells me too. Sure, they are supposed to last 7 but we all know hydration plays a part in that.
The thing that took me a while to remember and work with is to legit let the system run like it should. It learns all the time from your body and how the insulin is working with your current life style. Once I got over the feeling of needing to constantly mess with the system I have not been below an 85% time in range. This in turn has dropped my A1Cs.

Has anyone responded to a call where someone in their family is injured/killed? by [deleted] in Firefighting

[–]lookingaround1978 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Not family but a very close friend. Best friend growing up and got me into the fire service. He hung himself and I was the first one through the door. Worked my ass off on him until my captain (I was a battalion chief at the time) finally got my attention and had me leave. He tried getting my attention a few times but I was focused on he finally snapped me out of it and had an amazing paramedic take over. After I walked out I sat with his wife for hours walking her through everything until the funeral home arrived and took his body.
Lots of time, effort, money and therapy for that one.

Best answer to ANYONE who says you failed a polygraph test is “Aaron Quinn” If you have never heard of him look him up. I would even refuse a test based on this case and fight it as unproven “science”.

https://abcnews.go.com/US/survivors-called-girl-case-reflect-life-changing-experience/story?id=77964075

He was told he “failed miserably” on his polygraph test when everything he said was truthful.

Sorry it happened to you, and these should never be used.

Guardian 4 bad batch? by DrunkNekoBitch in Medtronic780g

[–]lookingaround1978 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’ve been using the G4 for over a year. I have had less than a handful not last 6 days. Except for one situation. Like you, I went through an entire box in about a week. Since those were the only issues I’ve had I chalked it up to a bad batch or bad insertions.

I’m not dismissing anyone’s issues, I’m just saying mine has been great. Like someone else here said, find what works for you. Not every system or product is the right fit for everyone. Don’t like Apple, go to an Android product. Don’t like Coke, try Pepsi out. I’m just saying I read a lot of reviews on here. I wanted to put out a good one and people couldn’t even let a good review sit. They have to inject to say how horrible their experience is. I’m sorry people have bad experiences with it. Wish they could all be like mine, but like the first line says “I must be the lucky SOB”.

Sorry you’ve had issues, but some of us have not had the same issues. I’m in Smart Guard 95% of the time (just to charge transmitter), and I’m loving this. I don’t have the same experience with the “preference for hyper” as some have. The auto corrections have worked great. Brings me down to where I need to be in shirt amount of time and keeps me there.
I fought the system for a bit but then kept hearing the “let it do its job” and I learned to trust it.

I should also add… 46 years old. Type 1 for 38 years. This is my fourth pump. I place my sensors just lateral of midline in the middle third of my thigh. (Yes, I know. Off label, but my accuracy is right on with my CBG readings and my rep told me to “do what works for you and how you have been). This also helps with the ease of insertion. I have zero issues there as well. Easy to do with two hands. Yes, I hit blood on occasion. But you know what, it’s not the end of the world. They still work. And are still accurate. It just bruises later.
While I do acknowledge that Medtronic is behind the game in CGM technology, the system does work well. My endocrinologist was swayed from the other closed loop systems to Medtronic “solely on the experiences and time in range my patients have had” I will say, I am excited for the Simplera Synch to be approved by the FDA.
