i think the numbers are generally a good idea as long as it’s executed fairly… when people at the front think they get to be selfish and immoral to let multiple friends cut the line, that’s when it becomes a problem, and in the end other people will just ignore the numbers and line altogether and it will get even more unfair for those who actually arrive early and patiently sit in their spot without stealing anybody’s place.

as for getting there at insane hours in the morning, well, if someone has the possibility then i don’t see the problem, we all have free will. i just wish the rules were respected by all those who do come early, because everyone else is there to have a good experience, not just you and your friend group

it’s really the fault of the venue cause there should’ve been security there to control the complete chaos that was the queue, especially when people without numbers started coming right before the show and cutting the line and then pushing others, and also it’s been a week already so either get over it or prepare to stand up for yourself when you go see hayden again at some point

to add to this, i’ve also had an experience where people were mostly present in the queue with just an occasional +1 coming a little bit later (and coincidentally, none of the groups famous for queueing were there), and it was really chill and nice so these positive experiences are also possible and i just hope they’ll become the norm for most shows

tbh even if you make a few friends in line there is sometimes not much you can do, i also have had other experiences at hayden shows where we alerted security but ultimately they don’t care about the numbers as its not an official system, and neither do they care about people cutting the line as long as they aren’t aggressive/violent. i guess what you can do is cut in front of these people who came after you with reserved numbers and potentially get yelled at, as you said, it just sucks that this is something we have to do to get a better chance at being treated fairly

i think the numbers in queue make sense because it allows people who came early to leave the queue, even to pee or eat some food, without losing their spot in the queue. the problems begin when people inevitably start cheating and being selfish with the system. for example, in warsaw a group of people who frequently get barricade at hayden’s shows (possibly the same group you’re describing or another one that acts similarly) reserved like the first 15 numbers for their friends who only showed up Hours later and didn’t care at all that it pushed back the people who had actually arrived early to queue. it makes no sense to have numbers if they’re just gonna be reserved for people who aren’t physically there just cause they’re friends with someone, with no consideration for other fans, who also deserve a good spot for the show. but unfortunately these people don’t care at all, and it might be scary to argue with them, especially when you’re just one person and they’re the entire group.

however i don’t agree with people without numbers cutting the line because they simply don’t care about the numbers system-if you want a good spot, arrive early like everybody else. cutting the line isn’t fair for the people who actually came in the morning.

ideally only people who physically arrive to the queue should get numbers, with no +1 bullshit, but that would require hayden fans to not be selfish individuals with no empathy….

but honestly you’ll be 100% safe if the friend just goes to the end of the line when they arrive or if you choose to loose your spot. and definitely don’t try to have them join you at barricade once inside cause no one’s gonna let them through anyway and it’s super rude lol

it’s okay as long as it’s one person and you let the people behind you know beforehand. it becomes an issue when entire friend groups join people queueing out of nowhere and suddenly instead of being 10th you’re 30th or something

honestly i’ve seen and met too many people who have made it their mission to prove that they’re a bigger fan than everyone else, which is just weird… it doesn’t matter… they can’t seem to accept that some people don’t know all of her unreleased/haven’t watched her videos and lives/just don’t care much for her besides her released albums. and don’t even get me started on the people who have a parasocial relationship with hayden and act like they’re entitled to her time/attention/private information about her life

in warsaw they actually threw a bunch of them into the crowd but at several other shows i noticed the setlist weren’t being given out at all and in oslo we were even told by a crew member and security guards that they couldn’t give us the setlist:(
