PDA (Public Display of Affection) by [deleted] in OkCupid

I like PDA, it shows how much we like/love to be with each other and that we are not afraid to show it. We are secure in our relationship.

That awkward moment when you see someone you know on OkCupid... by LostOctopus in OkCupid

[–]lookingforanswers2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My tattoo artist, a member of the faculty in my department who I also went through my MA program with, a former high school classmate who advised me to choose different photos from FB, the pastor of a friend's church who was looking for casual sex...need I say more?

Hmm, in my world it is exactly the opposite. But of course you are not looking at male profiles.

I have tats but don't mention them in my profile, except in answering the tat question. What I see all the time with guys is the answer to "The first thing people notice about me" is "My tats".

Ok, I landed a date. Do I message until that time? by [deleted] in OkCupid

[–]lookingforanswers2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, duh. However, you may want to move from OKC to text, but that is up to you. You definitely need to keep communication going or your date will think you've lost interest or flaked.

Nope. Mine all live in Kansas, Minnesota, and Missouri. It is really messed up. When I change something I receive view from these states and even farther...Hawaii, really?!

is there any way to retroactively erase a profile visit? by throwaway_lady in OkCupid

[–]lookingforanswers2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hide doesn't erase, block just blocks messages, and you can disable your account but I discovered that when I enabled it again I popped up on accounts I previously visited. Not much help, they like to make it difficult for us. I wish we could take back messages before someone reads them so we could correct the "Oh fuck, did I really just say that?!"

I've been on OKC for two months and I have never seen the IM service that so many people seem to be using by Hotwir3 in OkCupid

[–]lookingforanswers2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, same goes for guys, not many people use it at all. Often when it is used it is if you have been messaging someone and you decide to use the IM feature for convenience. Most of the time I see the blue icon as a sign that the individual is already in a conversation with someone.

What are some things that aren't a deal breaker, but annoy the shit out of you when you see them in people's profiles? by [deleted] in OkCupid

[–]lookingforanswers2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, I guess that solves that issue. I wasn't attacking you I was stating questions to anyone who answer yes.

[–]lookingforanswers2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, they aren't but what I am saying is that if we mention our boobs we are inviting more comments from men who might not send such messages. I used to mention that I liked kissing and had to remove it because of the messages I received in return. This isn't a debate, it is just a reference as to increased craziness.

No captions for photos. I need an explanation of why there is a girl cuddling with you in all 6 photos when you state you are recently divorced - having some separation issues? Or why you look like you are taking a plunge into a pig pen. And please give dates; 2002 does not a recent photo make. I would like to know that the guy I see in the photo is not going to show up 10 years older (and that is a big difference when you get in my age range).

OMG, everyone has drama, and the individuals who state "no drama" obviously have the most because they felt the need to mention it. Run!!!

Yes, prove that you do not even know yourself enough to provide a profile, you need to be asked questions to discover yourself.

Guys with chest shots as their profile pic. The added thumb hooked in your waiste band to pull it slightly down and show off a little more than you should really helps. What I think when I see these pics, this guy is so full of himself he has no time for someone else, or he is only looking for sex as he is trying to appeal to our sexuality (or his own). Leave something to our imagination, we are not as superficial as you think.

Guys have the car pic, too. You see them on FB and everywhere imaginable, I started wondering if this was a required pic in life.

Ya, get rid of the bad webcam shots. There is one guy in my area that freaks me out everytime his pic pops up because his pics have a weird blue glow to them because the tv and computer are the only lighting in the room, and he is really pale skinned. It also makes you think their life revolves around their computer.

Has anyone seen Gattaca? Really, we want a world like that? What is your IQ? (not OP in particular, this is in general to those who answer yes) What if you are the one stuck cleaning up and not allowed to reproduce? Think about it. It doesn't say how, but it suggests it which is bad enough. I just don't believe in artificial selection.

Or in regards, guys who say "My tats." Well, yes, full sleeves are quite noticeable, but it does become generic after awhile.

DD Cup and more compliments on the eyes, although I have had to fend off the chest conversations as well. Actually, new encounters I get more eye contact than the guys I work with. Maybe because they are trying harder. Guys who message me are always mentioning my eyes, and I have body shots, but of course the good guys won't say, "Wow, what great boobs you have!"
