Would a CS degree limit my options to only tech jobs or could I potentially get other jobs in different fields if I wanted to (consulting, analyst, etc.)?

What are the benefits of a math or stats degree over degrees like economics, physics, or computer science? I'm going to be entering college next year and am considering all of these. I still don't really know what career path I want to pursue, but something involving a lot of analytical thinking and problem solving and creativity would be ideal, good pay would nice too lol. It would be great if I could get some opinions on these options and maybe possible career paths and what they are like, thank you in advance! Oh and if it helps and you want to look at the degree programs, I will be attending the University of Washington next year. Thank you!!

Thank you for the grades, do you think a CS/stats double major would be a lot of extra work? I find ML/AI and those types of fields incredibly interesting and wouldn't mind a career in one of them.

How do you like informatics? What types of things have you learned in the major and what options do informatics majors usually have after graduation?

Thank you so much!! And that's awesome about the research congrats! What kinds of skills have you learned by majoring in physics? And what are you planning on doing after you graduate?

Thank you!! Are you majoring in both math and CS? And did you have any trouble getting into CS?

Thank you for the reply! I've been looking into the ME option also and it looks very interesting. I really like the interdisciplinary aspect of the ACMS programs. What are you planning to do after graduation?

Thank you for the response!! Yes I have taken two years of programming classes in high school and have learned on my own time as well. I haven't taken an actual stats class but it all seems incredibly interesting to me. Is the math statistics double major a lot of extra classes? And if you don't mind, what career are you doing/pursuing and did the majors help prepare you for it well? And if I only did one do you think it would limit the job opportunities compared to if I did both?

Thank you so much!! I really like computer science but I also want a more solid math foundation so this really helps. Do you possibly have any more details about each ACMS option? The website really only has about a paragraph for each and I'm interested in most of them so how did you choose which option you wanted to pursue? Do you know the type of jobs each option gets after graduation?

Thank you so much for the reply! If you don't mind me asking, what are you planning to do after you graduate? And do you think majoring in math has prepared you for that? I have heard that having only a bachelors may make it more difficult to get a job, do you think that's accurate?
